Darrell Gish is the Vice President of Heritage Christian School. He and his wife Alison have three children and have been homeschooling for seven years. Their oldest just became a high school graduate! Darrell is an electrical engineer and co-owner of an engineering firm that specializes in long distance radio communication to deep water submarines, and transmitters that send the time signals to “atomic clocks”.
A message from Darrell:
As followers of Jesus, we are His disciples, and the ‘Great Commission’ Jesus gave us in Matthew 28 is to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you…” We have come to realize that making disciples of the nations begins in the home, training our children to be disciples of Christ – so that they can become disciplers of others, generation to generation, equipped to reach their own future children and the nations for Christ. Homeschooling is a key element in our efforts to disciple our children, rather than having to counteract the negative influences of secular education, we disciple them directly into the nurture and admonition of the Lord…. putting into practice Deut 6:6-7 “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
Philip Conover has been married to his wife Alesia for 29 years. They have three children: Isaac (age 19), Gabriel (age 17), and Josiah (age 13). They have homeschooled all their children since 2005. Isaac is now married and attending San Diego State with a full scholarship.
Philip has a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University, 20 years experience in the computer industry as an engineer, and was the owner/manager of full-service hair salon for 5 years. He has been a partner of Conover’s Tires, Wheels and Service for six years.
A message from Philip and Alesia:
We are confident that en emphasis on apologetics and bible based teaching is the most important part of the formal education of our children. It has strengthened their faith and prepared them to confidently face the daily attacks on God and their faith in God. Homeschooling has given us the opportunity to emphasis Godly teaching as well as imperfectly example grace and unconditional love because the head knowledge is useless without experiencing the love and grace.
Aaron Burmeister is a husband, father of three children, and mechanical engineer. He holds three patents and has been a guest lecturer at UCSD. He is fired up about the way in which Educate for Life brings the truth of God’s word and awesomeness of his creation to the minds of those who want to learn. His experience as an engineer has made him more in awe of the design and creativity of God . Aaron is thankful for Educate for Life and the way in which it equips children and adults to defend their faith and reach out to those who don’t know Jesus.
Timothy Owen is a dedicated father and husband. He and his wife Roxanna have three children. Timothy has been a software engineer for 15 years.
A message from Timothy:
Many children grow up through various education systems learning the basic skills and knowledge necessary to get a job or move on to higher education… but many are lacking the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to live happy, productive and meaningful lives as God intended. Many young adults are ill equipped to have a life-lasting and meaningful marriage, be dedicated parents, handle their finances successfully, and understand the tough philosophical questions about life and our purpose as God designed it. It is my hope that organizations like Educate for Life can be a catalyst for equipping young adults and adults alike, to learn these necessary skills that are ignored by traditional education. Educate for Life can equip you and your family to live a life without ignorance and have an answer for those that are seeking the truth.

Camilo Perez has been working in public education for over 13 years, and most of his time is spent working with at-risk teens in the counseling department. He sees and hears first hand the personal, emotional, and social stresses that many teens experience.
A message from Camilo:
I’m confident that many young people would benefit from understanding more about God, His nature, and His love for them. With so many issues, cultural norms, and ideological perspectives vying for their attention, it’s difficult and almost impossible to live a life that honors God. I believe that Educate For Life provides a means to help meet teens where they’re at and teach them Biblical principles and truths that would help them better navigate through life, defend their beliefs, and more importantly experience the love of God.

We are excited for what Educate for Life offers to both youth and adults to understand and defend heir faith. EFL helps to educate people to understand their Christian heritage and beliefs, while providing them tools to more effectively and confidently communicate to family, friends and associates at work or school. It gives Christians amazing tools to better bring the gospel to a lost and dying world.
Fred Taylor is a Lean & Six Sigma certified multi-site operations executive, GM, and Columbia MBA experienced in global manufacturing, supply chain management, and sales in the US, Mexico, and Asia for
public and privately held firms. Fred was recently Vice President of Manufacturing at ProBuild
(Fidelity Private Equity), leading a $375M portfolio of building component factories and design teams in the U.S. and Central America.
It is clear to me that removing prayer and other Judeo-Christian points of emphasis or study from schools left an enormous void in our country’s fabric. Our moral decay proves this. EFL is providing an amazingly effective, and convenient, way for people of all faiths to study the Christian faith during their other K-12 studies, whether in a public, private, or home school environment. Kevin Conover was appointed by God to provide this teaching vehicle.
Dick Hausam and his wife, Janice, have two sons and seven grandchildren. He spent 26 years in the Santee School District and served as principal during the final 19 years. He then was a consultant for ten years for John Maxwell’s company, Injoy Stewardship Services. He is excited about the potential impact Educate For Life (EFL) can have on adults as well as teenagers. His prayer is that as a result of classes offered by EFL, the young and old alike will REALLY KNOW God and Jesus . . . experience a personal relationship with the Father. Not just have a knowledge ABOUT God and His Son.
