Tip #1 Scripture

Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. ESV

Parenting Tip: Model Maturity

One of the signs of maturity and a sign of growth as a Christian is self control. Self control is one of the fruits of the Spirit and is a byproduct of spending time in the Bible and prayer. Parenting can push us to our limits because we’re training up immature children who often act in ways that challenge our emotional self control. But that challenge also gives us one of the best opportunities to model mature responses versus immature responses. When our children watch us respond in a mature fashion that example goes into the catalog of their mind and teaches them how to grow up.

Apologetics (a defense of the Biblical worldview)

Child: They yelled at me so I yelled at them.
Parent: Jesus taught us to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. When you are a good example to others they will often pick up on it and begin to change the way they treat you.
