Halfway Done: Questions for Reflection

Nice work! You’re already halfway finished with Class 101. Using the following questions, take a moment to reflect on what you’ve learned in the first half of this class:

  1. Richard Dawkins lost his faith in God because of evolution. Could this have been avoided?  What can the church do to help prevent the same thing from happening to other people?
  1. Richard Lewontin said that he and others will always side with science and reject God/supernatural explanations, because they have a prior commitment to materialism.  What does this mean?  How does this admission affect the creation/evolution debate?
  1. There are several unusual creatures that seem to be halfway between two kinds of animals, such as the mudskipper, the platypus, and archaeopteryx.  Do these individual animals provide hard evidence for evolution?  Why/why not?
