Do you know what today is?
Happy Reformation Day! Martin Luther is famous for the Protestant Reformation movement. On October 31 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the church in Wittenberg, with strong conviction he was no longer able to deal with the church’s unbiblical theology. His “95 Theses” cited two main beliefs, first the Bible should be the primary religious authority and second salvation can be obtained by faith alone, not by good works. He disagreed with the evil customs of “indulgences” which sold forgiveness for money.
The Reformation in 1517 brought an encouraging revolution to the body of Christ around the world. One of the blessings, due to the invention of the printing press, was the ability to offer new Bible translations and allow people to read the Bible for themselves. They could view the pages of their very own Bibles, in their own language. Church history was changed and the truth of God’s Word revealed, thanks to Luther’s faithfulness to stand for righteousness.
