Moms: Unsung Heroes – Missy Robertson and Kimberley Fletcher

Mothers play one of the most powerful roles in shaping the next generation—and this episode of The Educate for Life Podcast dives deep into why. In today’s culture, where Christian education, biblical worldview formation, and Christian parenting are more important than ever, Missy Robertson and Kimberley Fletcher remind us why moms remain vital to spiritual and cultural renewal. Their stories highlight the beauty, sacrifice, and influence God has given mothers as they raise children in a world that desperately needs truth.

Understanding the Heart of Motherhood Today

Missy Robertson—known for her family’s commitment to Christ on Duck Dynasty—brings a heartfelt perspective on walking through real challenges with faith. From supporting families through the Mia Moo Foundation to mentoring vulnerable women through Laminin Designs, she shares how God transforms brokenness into purpose. Her experiences resonate deeply with Christian parents navigating special needs, suffering, and the pressures of modern motherhood.

Joining her is Kimberley Fletcher, founder of Moms for America and a national voice championing faith, family, and biblical virtue. Kimberley unpacks why mothers uniquely shape culture, how civic responsibility connects to a biblical worldview, and why today’s families must rediscover spiritual community. She explains how motherhood is not a secondary calling—it is a God-ordained mission with generational impact.

Together, Missy and Kimberley explore how Scripture equips moms to lead with courage, wisdom, and compassion—especially as issues like identity, education, and faith formation intersect with daily family life. Their insights encourage women to embrace their God-given influence with confidence and joy.

In a sequel to last week’s episode on moms, Kevin has two special guests on the show. Their names are Missy Robertson and Kimberley Fletcher. Being mothers themselves, they understand how difficult raising children can be but believe that it is the most important role women have.

Missy Robertson is the wife of Jase Robertson and has learned to live life in the spotlight as she plays an important part in her family’s record-breaking reality television series, Duck Dynasty. Despite the increased publicity on her family, company and personal life, she has become a strong voice for morality and virtue both locally and globally. Missy is a devoted mother of three children who focuses on having a strong, happy and loving family. She also runs her own jewelry business and is the ultimate working mom.

Kimberly Fletcher is an Air Force wife, mother of 8 children and president and founder of Homemakers for America (founded 2004). She is also the author of the book WOMEN: America’s Last Best Hope, and a contributing writer with The Blaze and Townhall.com. Labeled by the media as “an unabashed America-loving homemaker,” Kimberly has made it her personal mission to educate and inspire the women of America to realize their immeasurable worth and powerful influence on society simply by being who they are.

These two women shatter the modern perception that women need to be outside of the home in order to be influential. Rather, they both believe that the greatest power a woman has to influence a culture is by being a mother.Tune in to Educate For Life to hear a great discussion. You don’t want to miss it.

[00:00:42] unbelievable the most-watched non-fiction cable series in history the series ended on March 29th 2017 after

[00:00:49] eleven seasons and Kimberly and Jase had been married for more than 25 years they have three kids Reed Cole and Mia and I

[00:00:56] wanted to ask you Missy I saw online that Jase recently shaved his beard off

[00:01:03] in order to raise money for the meeow meeow mu I believe it is yes yes he did

[00:01:12] okay and now are you happy about that I am thrilled I got the man I married

[00:01:20] right back that’s fantastic that’s great so yeah I posted that up on my Facebook

[00:01:26] page it’s pretty amazing he looks so different yeah yeah but that’s really

[00:01:31] great can you tell us a little bit about the Mia mu foundation and what that is sure it’s named after our daughter Mia

[00:01:38] she just actually turned 14 and she was born with a cleft lip and a cleft palate and we did not know anything about this

[00:01:46] condition when she was diagnosed with that she was 31 weeks old in my womb and

[00:01:51] that’s when we knew and we didn’t know the extent of it until she was born so we had to learn really quickly exactly

[00:01:58] what this was about and you know actually I’m still learning after 14 years era every child is different it’s

[00:02:05] not something that you can just solve or fix with the surgery the if the pilot is

[00:02:11] involved it it just has a lot affected because of the growing child and so each one is different and

[00:02:18] it takes really a team that knows each individual child and what’s best for them and there’s a lot of expenses

[00:02:23] involved and long before duck dynasty we were you know living paycheck-to-paycheck the average American family and when

[00:02:31] you’re hit with something like this you’re not financially prepared yet you still want to do it

[00:02:36] what’s completely best for your child and we’ve tried to eliminate the stress

[00:02:41] of the finances in regarding regards to making that decision that a family has to go through so this is just a way to

[00:02:48] come alongside the family once they’ve made that decision and help them financially that’s so great and if

[00:02:54] somebody wants to support that effort what website can they go to to make a contribution it’s Mia Morgan okay Mia

[00:03:02] Muturi that’s fantastic my own daughter I have a daughter with cystic fibrosis so I know what it’s like to have that

[00:03:07] sort of a struggle now you you now that the show is over are you are you happy

[00:03:13] that the show is over or you wish it was still going on no no most of us are

[00:03:19] really happy five years and it was great we all said that we’ll do it as long as God pays away and creates that Avenue

[00:03:26] for us so we all felt very fine and great and grand with it stopping so we

[00:03:32] we went into this knowing that we wanted to give this to God at the very beginning and we said people would say

[00:03:39] how long are you going to do it we said however long God wants us to so when God saw that it needed to be over we were

[00:03:45] perfectly fine with that that’s great and you you probably find yourself with so much more time on your hands I mean

[00:03:52] we’re first kind of at a loss is like okay what do I do with myself here oh we had a little bit of a breathing

[00:03:57] breathing room there yeah yeah it was pretty stressful you know for a long time but you know with our my I have two

[00:04:05] older boys and so their lives were changing pretty rapidly with college and marriage all happening in that last

[00:04:11] season and so that gave us the time to really focus on them and celebrate these

[00:04:18] changes in their lives with film they filmed all through middle school in high school and so this was great for our

[00:04:24] family to kind of regroup and spend some time you know helping them make those decisions that’s so that’s so fantastic

[00:04:30] and so now that you’re not doing the show and you you have this additional

[00:04:36] time and everything what do you spend your time doing what are you investing

[00:04:41] in now I saw on the website that you have a variety of ministries that you’re involved with that you support and

[00:04:48] contribute to and I know you have laminin designs also can you tell us a little bit about laminin designs and

[00:04:54] what your what you’re doing there sure sure it’s a jewelry company that I own that it’s basically it’s a business but

[00:05:02] it’s also a ministry and we’ve been in ministry our entire married life my dad

[00:05:08] is a gospel preacher and course you know about Phil and Kay and how they always have always had people in their home so

[00:05:15] that part was easy the business part was something that I’m having to learn still on a daily basis and trying to connect

[00:05:21] those two but the ministry part of this is a hire mainly women who just

[00:05:28] basically need a new purpose in life they have found themselves that making wrong decisions earlier in their past

[00:05:34] and yeah uh-huh hello like can you hear me oh I’m sorry

[00:05:44] we lost you there for a second I can hear you now go ahead you gone some of them have been involved in sex trafficking some in drug abuse and I

[00:05:51] even had one lady who is homeless for a few years and so the specificity of them amazing and becomes hard to have a

[00:05:59] supply of it and they create beautiful jewelry and that’s what we’re about is just trying to help them in ministry but

[00:06:05] also have fun well it that’s so great yeah and what a fantastic thing to do there it is to

[00:06:11] reach out to these women who have been struggling with these drug addictions and human trafficking and so forth

[00:06:17] laminin designs calm if your interest if you’re listening and you’re interested in supporting that through purchasing

[00:06:22] some of their jewelry and so forth you can do that laminin designs calm now Missy Kimberley is going to be joining

[00:06:29] us on the air in a little bit here but you’re involved with the moms mark USA

[00:06:34] that’s coming up here in September September 23rd in aha and why did you decide to get

[00:06:42] involved with what Kimberly is doing well I think it’s very important for

[00:06:47] women to take a stand together and Kimberly’s heart for wanting to use bones I think is something that has not

[00:06:54] been really highlighted in social our culture and so you know just as a lot of

[00:07:00] now – pretty much grown boys and one middle school girl who’s it also has you

[00:07:07] know issues because of the way the way she was born with cliffs put the pilot and so many physical struggles and

[00:07:13] social struggles and different things you know moms can tackle a lot we can handle a lot when it comes to our kids

[00:07:20] and when we feel like you know our kids are threatened or somehow that our kids

[00:07:26] are not going to thrive in a place where we know that they so much potential you

[00:07:32] know we go to bat for them like returning to mama bears there I want to assess for them and what better place to

[00:07:38] come together everybody thinking along the same lines and for one purpose to better our communities and better our

[00:07:46] country as a whole for our children and getting back to not letting the social

[00:07:53] culture of the day dictate what we believe but stand firm on the truth you

[00:07:58] know Jesus same yesterday today and forever no matter what the culture says

[00:08:03] if we get back to the Bible we get back to the roots of the gospel and why Jesus came

[00:08:08] that’s what our kids maybethe ribn I couldn’t agree more I think that’s so fantastic that you’re doing that and I

[00:08:15] think it’s amazing I was looking up the stats on moms and and George Barna a Christian statistician who does a lot of

[00:08:22] surveys he talks about the faith of moms and one of his studies that was recently

[00:08:28] done he said the spirituality of moms outpaces that of dads women who are raising children are among the most

[00:08:34] faith minded and spiritually active segments of the American population and he goes on to talk about that a majority

[00:08:41] of mother strongly agree that their faith is very important in their life in contrast fathers also tend to list

[00:08:47] family as their top priority in life yet they’re much less likely to equally attribute importance to faith

[00:08:52] and so that’s so exciting what you’re doing with her and for those of you who listening mom’s marked usa.com if you

[00:08:59] want to look more into it September 23rd Missy is going to be speaking there at

[00:09:04] the event as well as Kimberly and also people like Sarah pale and candy Carson

[00:09:09] and others so if that’s something you want to get involved with it’s a fantastic opportunity to make a

[00:09:15] difference in our culture and my guest today is Miss Robertson of duck dynasty

[00:09:20] Fame and also Kimberly Fletcher who will be joining us in the next segment and

[00:09:26] stay with us we’re going to continue to talk about the impact that mothers have on the culture and on their families

[00:11:58] Bible curriculum just for your kids my website is joined I educate for life do our G it’s 40 online classes

[00:12:04] defending the truth of the Bible and right now i’m talking with missy robertson and kimberly fletcher two moms

[00:12:11] who have a passion for jesus christ and truth and are working hard to let moms

[00:12:17] know what kind of an impact they can have on the lives of their children and really in the broader culture as a whole

[00:12:23] and kimberly is the founder and president of homemakers of America and

[00:12:29] she’s also an Air Force wife and mother of eight she’s the author of women America’s last best hope which makes me

[00:12:37] nervous about what that means for men but we’ll talk about that soon here and she’s also

[00:12:42] a contributor to the blaze and townhall.com and also hosts her own radio program so we’re gonna be talking

[00:12:49] more to Kimberly also but Missy I have only a little bit of time left here with you I wanted to ask you also about what

[00:12:57] you’re doing with some of the ministries you’re involved with you have an orphanage that you support down in the

[00:13:03] Dominican Republic I was reading and can you tell our guests a little bit more about that also yes we’ve had a

[00:13:09] relationship with that orphanage for almost ten years now and through our church and so I’ve been

[00:13:15] a member of the same church since I was three months old basically and so we we

[00:13:22] are used in ministry we have a ministry organization called one kingdom and you

[00:13:27] can find this one kingdom org but it’s right now there there in South Florida helping all of those who have been

[00:13:33] affected by her we’re just in Houston with the same with Harvey and so we have

[00:13:39] a huge outreach in terms of trying to take care of people here first in our

[00:13:45] country and second just really around the world and one of those places is a tiny little orphanage in a Dominican

[00:13:52] Republic and it has gone through a lot of

[00:13:57] for those children edit I just want to think that have my heart

[00:14:04] okay we lost you for a little bit there but I think we get the gist that that is something that you’re passionate about

[00:14:10] you care about I think it’s so a great how your family has turned this opportunity into something to be a

[00:14:16] blessing to others so many people don’t do that and that’s really really fantastic and so what do you see for the

[00:14:25] future do you think that is duck dynasty ever going to come back on on the air or is that kind of something

[00:14:31] that’s that’s over and done with well you know I quit limiting God five

[00:14:37] years ago I used to just pray for things that I knew to pray about and now I’m just like God whatever you have in your

[00:14:43] brain about what’s going on in my life you just go do it and hopefully I’ll be able and willing at the time because

[00:14:49] what he did was duck dynasty nobody saw coming nobody could have ever predicted

[00:14:54] that and so I have no idea what the future holds I have quit trying to

[00:14:59] determine the future so whatever God lays out in front of me I just prayed I will be available and willing to do what

[00:15:05] he says that’s so great that’s good advice and and so for young mothers out there who are struggling with you know

[00:15:14] maintaining their faith their marriages they’re struggling with their marriages and all what kind of what kind of advice

[00:15:19] would you give them maybe going back in time looking at yourself as a young mother and if you were to go back and

[00:15:25] give advice to yourself as a young mother you know from a faith perspective of faith in Jesus Christ

[00:15:31] what kind of advice might you have given to yourself or already give to a young mother today I would definitely say

[00:15:38] godly godly counsel from older women number one for sure and man community

[00:15:44] whether it’s a church whether it’s just a faith group that you’re involved in because it’s hard to I can’t imagine

[00:15:51] having to do that alone so especially when Mia was born there I had so many friends that just gathered around and

[00:15:57] held me up and said you can do this and pray for me daily and where they’re helping me physically with her and so

[00:16:04] number one godly advice from older women and number two find your find your

[00:16:09] people find your community that’s great advice very good wonderful advice I

[00:16:15] again my guest today Missy Robertson and Kimberley Fletcher and they’re here

[00:16:20] we’re talking about the impact that mothers have on a culture specifically moms mark USA is coming up on September

[00:16:26] 23rd in Omaha Nebraska you can join them anywhere in the world through livestream and there’s going to be all kinds of

[00:16:32] guests and encouraging just encouraging you to make a difference as a mom and I

[00:16:37] just wanted to say thank you very much miss you for being on the program today I’ve know you’ve got you’ve got an other

[00:16:42] things to get to so thank you for being here thank you for having me okay god bless you so I wanted to pick up

[00:16:50] with you Kimberly and just talk about you know I was reading this stat here

[00:16:55] this is again by George Barna and it says it was a study he did mom’s rank

[00:17:01] family as their number one priority and report that it’s also their top time commitment 7 out of 10 say family takes

[00:17:08] the lion’s share of their time and no other commitment comes close to the nearest competitor for time is career

[00:17:14] with just over 2 and 10 moms saying they spend most of their hours each week at work here’s the biggest disparity

[00:17:20] between priorities and obligations mom’s rank career last on their list of priorities after family

[00:17:26] personal development church and friendships but it’s second on their list of time commitments and so there’s

[00:17:32] this disparity here whereas they don’t rank career as real important but yet

[00:17:38] when it comes to real life its second on their list of time commitments is this something that resonates with what you

[00:17:45] see in our culture and with what you see in your ministry to moms yeah it is

[00:17:52] actually and there’s some there’s a few factors that play into that one is that there are a lot of mothers who are

[00:17:58] working outside the home who would rather not work outside the home that they they they would tell you that they

[00:18:04] feel like you know they have to work their the force outside the home because of the economic situation that that the

[00:18:10] kind of climate of our of our society today with all the different policies that are going on they do directly

[00:18:16] affect home and family and what Missy was saying about the need to be supported that’s huge and another factor

[00:18:24] would would be that I think there are women who would enjoy their career if you will more if it’s a career

[00:18:32] that’s difference between having a job and having a career when you have a career it’s something that you’re really enjoying and you’re doing when you have

[00:18:37] a job you’re doing it because you need the money so when somebody has a career then if they were more supported in

[00:18:44] their role as a mother it would make a really big difference and I’m I’m talking about mothers supporting mother

[00:18:51] so it’s just what she said there used to be this beautiful energy between between

[00:18:57] women a spirit of sisterhood a sense of community that thrived with the women of America and that just doesn’t exist

[00:19:04] anymore it’s like we’re all compartmentalized in our own little world but we need each other we need

[00:19:09] each other when when we have a child who has a problem or work struggling with whatever the issue is just sometimes all

[00:19:14] we need is something to go you’re a great mom keep going it’s been a bad date that’s okay get up tomorrow and do it again

[00:19:20] yeah hit that for each other I think that’s really what factors into those

[00:19:26] two those numbers and statistics well that’s so interesting and so what why in

[00:19:31] your studies and what you’ve looked into why has this change taking place where

[00:19:36] there’s not as much community among mothers to be able to support one another why is that disappearing in

[00:19:43] American culture I think the whole entire sense of community is disappearing in the American culture

[00:19:48] part of that is because there’s this invisible hand wherever it’s coming from

[00:19:54] telling us that we can’t get along we’ve got to be divided in compartmentalize and these different socio-economic groups and these different you have this

[00:20:01] education under this religion or whatever but motherhood is the great unifier and you get in a room let’s say

[00:20:10] there’s 30 women in a room and they come from they’re all different ages all different races all different religions

[00:20:15] all different income levels and you would think that they would have nothing in common but the moment that one of

[00:20:21] those mothers says something about her child it is an infant connector everybody in that room is talking about

[00:20:27] the same thing I want to be able to get to a point where talking more about the things that unite us because moms really

[00:20:34] all want the same thing we all want our children to first and foremost be safe every mother wants that they want their

[00:20:40] children to be safe they want them to have a good education they want them to be able to be happy which in mom language equates to being a

[00:20:48] good person and being able to provide for yourself maybe in our old age maybe they’ll take care of care of us but if

[00:20:54] those are the things we could focus on and then let them encourage each other and in our you know role of being

[00:21:00] mothers I think I would make a really big difference community-wide all these

[00:21:05] things that can seem to divide us a second factor it’s the fact that women do have felt that they have to be out in

[00:21:14] the workforce to help to have that second income that has been something that has its again compartmentalized

[00:21:20] into a specific area we are we go here to go to work and then we come here to

[00:21:26] come home the third one would be that we are over busy yeah there are so many

[00:21:33] things on our plates and in our lives we we got to take our kids to soccer we got a jolly practice it’s kind of gotten to

[00:21:39] the point where you’re measured maybe we’re just measuring ourselves this way I think it’s probably ourselves they’re

[00:21:45] doing it they are a societal norm that we measure ourselves based on how many things our children are involved in that

[00:21:52] makes so much sense where we really have more qualities for the time that we spend with them yeah my guest today is

[00:21:58] Kimberly Fletcher and Missy Robertson and we’re talking about the impact that

[00:22:04] moms have and what’s what’s happening in our culture and how we want to get back to community the moms mark USA is coming

[00:24:31] welcome to educate for life I’m your host Kevin Conover if you are a homeschooling parent I’ve designed a

[00:24:37] Bible curriculum just for your kids my website is joined educate for life org it’s 40 40 online classes defending the

[00:24:44] truth of the Bible lifetime access and one price for the whole family don’t have to pay per child its per family

[00:24:51] member and it’s an amazing tool to help your children develop a strong faith in Jesus Christ in the Bible and I wanted

[00:24:57] to start off again by reading something I’ve George Barna is obviously one of my one of my heroes here because he’s

[00:25:03] constantly looking and reflecting on what’s happening in our culture and in 2017 he did a survey it said that while

[00:25:10] 58 to 70 percent of parents see value in their children being exposed to extended

[00:25:15] family gatherings church services art exhibits and the Bible children on average spent only two hours per week on

[00:25:21] these activities in contrast 33 to 43 percent of parents do not see value in

[00:25:26] their children being exposed to professional sports television news online content and current movies yet

[00:25:31] children on average spend seven hours per day on these and related activities statistically a very small amount of

[00:25:37] younger people have what he called a biblical worldview said Barna only four

[00:25:42] percent of 18 to 30 year olds and 7 percent of 30 to 49 year olds we are in

[00:25:47] a crisis Barna said if the church does not wake up and solve it biblical Christianity in the United States is in

[00:25:53] jeopardy and I know Kimberly you you are

[00:25:59] the the founder of homemakers of America and you’re also the one who’s putting

[00:26:06] together moms Marc usa.com and can you tell us what was it that caused you to

[00:26:14] start homemakers of America and then ultimately what is it you’re trying to at reach achieved through moms mark USA

[00:26:22] well what what inspired me to start the organization was literally a calling from God because what mother who is a

[00:26:29] full-time mother would sit down on the couch one day and say you know what you can start a national yeah yeah you

[00:26:35] already you have eight kids so goodness I have eight children and my husband was deployed a lot and but in 2004 I got

[00:26:44] involved and just informing people on during the presidential election that year I just got involved in just

[00:26:50] educating people and going door-to-door and saying you know these are the candidates and this is what they stand for but what I found is as I was doing

[00:26:56] that that women what fought fire and large would come to the door and say you

[00:27:02] know what don’t even bother because I’m not voting in this election and I’m like why and they said because we don’t know

[00:27:08] who these people are and we don’t know what they stand for and we don’t want to make the wrong choice I don’t want to make the wrong choice they said that

[00:27:14] over and over and over again and and I thought somehow where we have this

[00:27:19] disconnect between what’s going on in in society and what our role is in it and

[00:27:28] we get so busy with our getting involved in our NGO and work or in community

[00:27:35] service or in Bibles or whatever which like we’re going going going going going and we don’t realize we women largely

[00:27:42] say they don’t do politics well I don’t do politics either I do civic responsibility and civic responsibility

[00:27:47] is to know who you are your daughter of God to know what this

[00:27:53] country is about it protects our freedoms to worship that God and then to share that information with your

[00:27:59] children but to their hearts not their minds you can only stuff so much information in their minds and they

[00:28:05] remember but when you touch their hearts that lasts and if you want to you know keep that culture back that were that

[00:28:11] we’re losing that that biblical faith we need to go to their hearts and touch their hearts and that’s kind of where

[00:28:17] that that led me in the founding of the organization I wanted to do something that helps support promoting liberty and

[00:28:24] virtue in the home but the combination of those two just doesn’t really happen and there were no organizations out

[00:28:30] there doing it or resources providing it because I looked and I saw what you say can really when you say liberty and

[00:28:37] virtue and what do you can you except for our for our audience can you expand

[00:28:43] on what you mean by that yes so um Liberty is this different from

[00:28:50] freedom people have this idea that freedom means that you can do whatever you want and they’re still consequences and that’s

[00:28:56] not what it is freedom is the ability to choose to choose for yourself what actions you are going to do but then

[00:29:01] there are consequences to follow and you don’t get to dictate what those are Liberty means responsibility and and

[00:29:07] it’s a it’s a weighty principle it means that you provide for yourself that you that you understand the constitutional

[00:29:14] principles and principles of Liberty that this nation was founded on to to

[00:29:20] not steal from your neighbor to know basically the Ten Commandments all right along with that liberal sure you still

[00:29:26] have the choice of whether or not you’re going to do it virtue comes into play when you choose to do the right thing

[00:29:33] not because you’re going to get punished if you don’t but because you really want to because you want to be more price

[00:29:39] like because you want to be with your family you know and and and be loved and be

[00:29:44] cherished and you want to be a good person to the community so you need to have you need to have both and you have

[00:29:50] based the three pillars of Liberty are faith virtue and patriotism we’ve got to love our country we need to understand

[00:29:57] what it stands for because we truly are the light on the hill for the world and the whole world is looking at us hoping

[00:30:03] that we’ll succeed because if we don’t there is no hope left we still have the light of Christ here in a powerful way

[00:30:09] and we have the freedom to be able to provide for our families keep what we earn and make make our lives better for

[00:30:15] our posterity that is unique in all the world it is freedom in other places but not like it is here that’s absolutely

[00:30:22] true now the title of your book is women America’s last best hope so you know

[00:30:29] that makes me feel kind of bad as a man what so intoxicating it doesn’t really

[00:30:34] but I’m just curious it’s a it’s a somewhat of a provocative title because you know some people would be a thing

[00:30:39] well you know what why is it just women and not men what was the thought behind the title there well they found that

[00:30:47] rocks the cradle rules the world is not just a cute little thing it’s the mortalized fact and while it

[00:30:53] definitely takes two parents there are there are two very different defining roles and however you do it in your home

[00:30:59] that’s completely up to you but our divine inherent rights roles

[00:31:05] as men and women the men are the protectors and the providers and the women are the nurtures and the keepers

[00:31:10] of the culture we teach we nurture and you need those we need to be able to work together because you know you need

[00:31:16] that that that rugged you know know who are not going to do that and then you need that’s why she goes well maybe we

[00:31:22] should you know yeah yeah they complement each other but we truly are

[00:31:27] the keepers of the culture and well um in those in those sacred roles we are

[00:31:33] determining what the future will look like right in our own homes what we teach what we nurture and that’s kind of

[00:31:39] the purp you know the idea behind the name homemakers from America it’s not about stay home loft it’s about it’s

[00:31:46] about women who have realized their divine inherent role as keepers of the culture and the nurtures whatever

[00:31:52] standard we set that is as high as a culture will raise and it will not raise any higher if your children are sitting

[00:31:59] at the table and they have you know their burping at the table and the moms like yeah go ahead we’ll roll that’s the

[00:32:04] standard if she says no that is unacceptable say excuse me please then that is the standard so what what what

[00:32:11] the malls march is about is about raising that standard and we have the power to do that that that literally is

[00:32:18] our role in our greatest passage yeah Alexis de Tocqueville said righteous women in their circle of influence

[00:32:25] beginning in the home can turn the world around what America looks like tomorrow is happening right in our home we’re not

[00:32:31] just making homes we’re we’re creating the future yeah that’s that’s amazing

[00:32:37] and I feel like maybe some people have lost sight of that and our culture to an extent has said you’re only worth

[00:32:45] something as a woman if you’re working outside the home and they’ve kind of downplayed the value and the impact that

[00:32:51] a mom has on her children and I want to give you a chance to add to that and to respond to that because I know you’re

[00:32:57] passionate about that we’re coming up on a break here my guest today is Kimberly Fletcher and she is the founder of

[00:35:49] check them out on YouTube they’re all on YouTube and Kimberly is not in the studio with me today but often my guests

[00:35:56] are and I’ve had all kinds of guess did have candy Carson on also had on Denise

[00:36:02] Schick whose father told her that he wanted to be transgender at 9 that’s a big issue in our culture today and she

[00:36:08] is a Christian who is ministers to families who have been impacted by this gender issue and all kinds of other

[00:36:16] guest scientists and different people from different walks of life giving their testimony and sharing how Jesus

[00:36:22] Christ has impacted their life and I wanted to start off this segment we’re on segment number four here we’ve got

[00:36:28] two left with another thing that I thought was really powerful when I was looking into the impact of moms another

[00:36:36] Barna study said when it comes to spiritual perspectives a majority of

[00:36:41] mothers said they have been greatly transformed by their faith while less than half of fathers had shared this

[00:36:46] experience also three-quarters of moms said their faith is very important in their life while this view was true

[00:36:52] among just two-thirds of fathers mothers were also more likely than fathers to be born-again Christians to say they are

[00:36:58] absolutely committed to Christianity and to embrace a personal responsibility to share their faith in Jesus Christ with

[00:37:05] others moms are also more religiously active in a typical week mothers are more likely than our fathers to attend

[00:37:11] church pray read the Bible to participate in a small group attend Sunday school and volunteer some other

[00:37:16] time to help a nonprofit organization the only faith related activity in which fathers are just as likely as mothers to

[00:37:23] engage is volunteering to help at a church and Kimberly I wanted to ask you

[00:37:29] about this kind of two things here where we left off from the last segment which is has our culture downplayed the impact

[00:37:36] of mothers and the moms mark USA what what is it you’re trying to achieve

[00:37:42] through that effort through the moms marks well yes absolutely it’s being

[00:37:48] downplayed and that’s what we’re trying to achieve how women realize mothers to

[00:37:55] be empowered and fired encouraged empowered to realize just how powerful their influence is we

[00:38:01] literally do have the ultimate power and you know out for the boss because

[00:38:06] and this I come and I can’t say it any better than an archbishop Fulton he said to a great extent the level of any

[00:38:13] civilization is the level of its womanhood when a man loves a woman he has to become worthy of her the higher

[00:38:20] her virtue the more noble her character the more devoted she is to truth justice and goodness the more a man has to

[00:38:27] aspire to be worthy of her the history of civilization could actually be written in terms of the level of its

[00:38:33] women and I think in January I know we want to know is that – that’s the thing

[00:38:39] is like you never hear that but that’s such a powerful statement if if women

[00:38:44] knew the power that they have boy that would surely change things well that’s

[00:38:51] what I think and in January the messages that were sent were completely contrary to that and there was even an article

[00:38:58] written recently about about the hour month marks that said that this is going to take women’s rights back to the

[00:39:04] archaic days and I’m like what you’re talking about we have the ultimate rights we simply we are the keepers of

[00:39:10] the culture we determine where we’re going to go and again wherever we set that standard and if we value our own

[00:39:18] personal virtue there’s public virtue you know the way that you you behave I’m not talking public but as a citizen you

[00:39:24] know those are those values and virtues of being a part of a community and part of a family but individually are

[00:39:31] wholesome virtue do we give do we give ourselves away or or do we not I mean it is women who have

[00:39:38] the power we have the power to say no no you can’t behave that way no you can’t have access to me without

[00:39:44] commitment of marriage no you can’t expect my support if you abandon your duty but we also have the power to say

[00:39:49] yes yes you can earn my respect yes you’re worthy give me my companion yes I

[00:39:55] will stand strong at your side a woman’s power to decide stands as a foundation

[00:40:00] of civilization and it always has and and why have we lost this understanding

[00:40:07] as a culture what is that have to do with this whole you know equality issue or where did this where

[00:40:15] did we get off the tracks here well that actually is a fundamental problem here

[00:40:21] where we got off track was when we bought into a lie and the lie is being

[00:40:28] propagated by people who want to completely turn our culture around and we’re really sad like you can take it

[00:40:33] right down to the core source this is this is two armies God in the devil and if I wanted to destroy a country in a

[00:40:40] culture and undo everything that God had done that was good I would go directly to the limit because if I can convince

[00:40:46] them they aren’t who they are if I can deceive them distract them I can pull them away from where they have their greatest influence from where their

[00:40:52] voice is the most impacting from the home from their children from their family and that’s what’s happening they

[00:40:57] keep pulling us the day if you will there it is an orchestrated effort from

[00:41:03] Satan himself to pull us away so that so that those who come and fill in the holes can steal the hearts and minds of

[00:41:09] our children that’s why we’re losing our children that’s why they’re losing their faith because we’re still you know

[00:41:15] distracted and we feel like we’re buying into the lie that you have to have this title that motherhood is secondary that

[00:41:21] then it’s it’s a joke but in our hearts we know that’s not true and and again now some of the things I

[00:41:27] want mothers to be able to realize and embrace that this moms March that what you already feel in your heart to be

[00:41:33] true is it will be validated you are right it is what you want when Hitler

[00:41:39] took over Germany the first thing he did was went to just to divide the families

[00:41:44] to keep them away from their mothers and they went after the education and the churches if those want the answers to

[00:41:50] preserving liberty and virtue and a strong freedom free culture why would those who are trying to destroy it be

[00:41:57] spending so much time doing it it is the answer so we need to come back

[00:42:02] in and realize that where we have our greatest impact on society the most

[00:42:07] patriotic thing we’ll ever do for our for our country is right within the walls of our own home yeah that’s that’s

[00:42:14] definitely true I think my my wife and I that’s been something that we’ve gone

[00:42:19] back and forth on and talked about and tried to figure out and okay what do we do here and we’d

[00:42:25] actually just started homeschooling this year and it’s definitely amazing the

[00:42:31] amount you can pour into a child when they’re there at your home and not that you know kids going to school is wrong

[00:42:38] or anything but but for us it’s just been a very kind of a i opening just to

[00:42:44] be able to see the amount of time we get to invest into our kids and and my wife actually does have more community now

[00:42:50] because of the fact that she is homeschooling she’s going to these class days each week so if you’re listening

[00:42:57] it’s worth looking into and checking out III I know there’s a lot of controversy over okay should I homeschool or should

[00:43:03] I now I teach at a private school and I still feel like wow this is pretty amazing now did you or did your kids go

[00:43:11] to did you homeschool them or did they go to school or what advice do you give people as it pertains to things like

[00:43:16] that and they’re battling over hey how do I meet my budget I need to work and

[00:43:21] yet you’re saying hey I need to invest more time in my family I’m sure that’s a very difficult or common objection to

[00:43:28] what you’re saying it is balancing your your home and

[00:43:33] family with everything else in your life even bouncing your home and your family it is a constant struggle I am an

[00:43:40] absolute advocate of homeschooling I don’t think everybody the idea already

[00:43:46] can do it I don’t believe that’s true I think there really are people who just shouldn’t but that’s very rare and

[00:43:52] really it’s about how do you do it because we kind of set the standard of

[00:43:58] it has to look like what the the you know the government education system looks like and it doesn’t have to look

[00:44:03] like in fact it looks very different from that and then we start to compare ourselves to oh they’re doing that and

[00:44:08] playing violin and flute and my kids are just burning in the mud you know yeah we can’t compare ourselves to each other

[00:44:14] either yeah I had a little bit of both my all of my children were in hermit

[00:44:20] school and I call it what it is on the public school I call it what it is government goal until my oldest son went

[00:44:27] all the way through and graduated we started homeschooling when he was a junior in high school my three younger

[00:44:34] children have never been to a government school well that’s not true they can go there part-time right now for enrichment

[00:44:41] classes our local school system is awesome they just go and do a band and choir and come home he’s pretty cool yeah that’s not when they allow you to

[00:44:46] do that so but as far as the time that you spend with your children I was blown

[00:44:53] away I didn’t think that I liked a homeschool we’ve been doing it since 2001 and we kind of was work for them

[00:44:59] pushed into it my son had a medical condition that was going to cause him to have to be home for a while and when I

[00:45:05] went into the to the county they said well this could be a long-term thing and homebound is just a short-term thing and

[00:45:12] I said well what am I supposed to do and I’m not even kidding the woman’s across the counter said we’ll have you looked

[00:45:17] into homeschooling oh well I happened to have a friend that had moved into the

[00:45:22] neighborhood who homeschooled and so I went over and talked to her and to this day I have the greatest love and

[00:45:27] admiration for her because when you can find somebody who can mentor you as a

[00:45:32] mother as a teachers a homeschool or whatever that you never forget that person it they held up a special place

[00:45:39] in your heart and I want to be able to do that you know for other mothers III homeschool I can I can help other mother

[00:45:45] ii first my first of all I’ll tell you you can do this yeah and a lot of people

[00:45:50] are just very feel overwhelmed by I know it my wife feels overwhelmed by it but

[00:45:57] we’re coming up on a break here we have one more segment left my guest today is Kimberly Fletcher and she is the founder

[00:46:04] of homemakers of America homemakers of America Oh our G and I encourage you to

[00:46:09] get involved with what she’s doing I think it’s a powerful powerful message that she’s trying to get out there

[00:46:14] mom’s marked usa.com coming up on September 23rd please get involved with that and I want to talk a little bit

[00:46:20] more about that when we come back what what is the declaration of mothers that

[00:48:45] [Applause] welcome back to educate for life I’m so

[00:48:50] glad you’re listening today and I really hope that this show has been encouraging to you especially if you’re a mom out

[00:48:56] there who is struggling and maybe you’re a single mom maybe you feel disconnected from a

[00:49:03] community of moms I really hope that Kimberly and Missy and what they’ve been

[00:49:09] able to share maybe gives you some insight and some encouragement and what

[00:49:15] we’re talking about here is how you as a mother have a incredible opportunity to

[00:49:21] impact the future of our country through your investment and how you pour into

[00:49:27] your child and we just want to applaud you and say thank you for what you’re

[00:49:32] doing as a mother it’s a tremendous amount of work and just having to deal on a regular basis with kids that are

[00:49:40] developing a will of their own and independence and are constantly pushing

[00:49:46] the boundaries of what’s acceptable and so thank you for being a mom and thank

[00:49:51] you for going through all the hard stuff that a lot of times fathers are out of

[00:49:57] the home and are not involved in and so Kimberly I wanted to ask you

[00:50:03] so you’ve you’ve got this moms mark USA and if we go to the website on the

[00:50:08] website there you have the declaration of mothers and I wanted you to share

[00:50:14] with us what this is exactly and kind of expand and explain it to our listeners

[00:50:21] sure well it was actually inspiration that came to us about two years ago and

[00:50:26] our board got together and we talked about the need to have some kind of declaration that clearly outlined the

[00:50:34] basic principles of delivery and kind of common sense that all mothers could get

[00:50:40] around and the document clearly outlines some key truth whether or not you

[00:50:46] believe in God whether or not you want to recognize it that he you know was at the helm sounding our nation yeah

[00:50:53] miraculous events that happened and and he’s there I mean we see him everywhere

[00:51:00] absolutely those will deny him and we thought that that was something that needed to be declared very very clearly because our

[00:51:07] founders did they felt that it was self-evident that our rights come from God I felt evident that he even exists and

[00:51:13] so we put self-evident truths in this declaration that mothers are the nurturers that parents first and

[00:51:20] foremost are that are the are the those who teach nurture and raise their children and that the organization’s

[00:51:26] even churches and civic groups and government organizations are formed for the purpose of supporting them yeah not

[00:51:33] rather they sing or regulating them yeah in California here we have explorer declare yeah I love that because in

[00:51:40] California we had somebody one of our congressmen trying to trying to tell

[00:51:47] basically pass a bill that said this is what qualifies as a good parent and this is what’s a bad parent and if you don’t

[00:51:54] do what we say from a state perspective as a good parent then we’ll potentially come in and you

[00:52:00] know do who knows what we have unbridled authority to basically replace you as a

[00:52:05] parent and that certainly is something we want we do not want to take place in our country no absolutely not and and we

[00:52:13] wanted to make a very strong declaration that’s actually one of the first things that we state in this document that we

[00:52:20] recognize that a home that a nation is but a magnified home that mothers are the center of that home and that parents

[00:52:26] work together to raise and nurture their children that is our right or role our responsibility and that right comes from

[00:52:31] God it was a responsibility he gave us it was a right that he gave us and we only report to him now you know if there

[00:52:39] are families who are doing the various things obviously that then the law needs

[00:52:45] to step in but but that’s that’s not the norm yeah there and even in those situations

[00:52:51] a lot of times children are still better off with their parents because nobody is going to love a child more than their

[00:52:57] own mother or father and so you know we need to put the family first and figure

[00:53:04] out how can we support the family in those tragic situations not immediately decide that we’re going to rip them

[00:53:10] apart absolutely yeah I I completely agree with and so and then you know your emphasis

[00:53:17] on God is so important to as I’m reading this because I teach a Bible class at school at a Christian high school and

[00:53:24] without God you really don’t have any moral foundation to be able to say like

[00:53:30] you said all men are created equal all people are created equal in the sight of God without God then really it’s just

[00:53:37] whoever happens to have the power is the one that gets to make the rules or take advantage of other people right right

[00:53:43] and you know when our when our founding families came over here from from Europe

[00:53:49] they didn’t come from England people if you want her get that they came they were already free they already had freedom of religion they’ve gone to

[00:53:55] Holland and they already had freedom of religion what they were concerned about was the culture that they were children

[00:54:02] were being raised in and they can see that it’s starting it was starting to paint their children the disbelief in God the Diwali that was going on and

[00:54:09] they sacrificed everything and came over to America to a wilderness when we think

[00:54:15] of it today we’ve got buildings everywhere if it was a wilderness cold and no food you’re on your own yeah they

[00:54:21] made that sacrifice because they believed in God and they wanted that to be those values to be nurtured in the

[00:54:26] hearts of their children it meant that much to them not so great my guest today Kimberley Fletcher is the

[00:54:31] founder of homemakers of America and please get involved with her efforts of

[00:54:37] what she’s trying to do make women aware of how significant and how important it

[00:54:42] is and how impactful they are in the lives of their children and moms mark
