The Man Who Built Noah's Ark — with Ken Ham (Answers in Genesis)
In this episode of The Educate for Life Podcast, host Kevin Conover sits down with Ken Ham to talk about one of the most awe-inspiring faith projects of our time: the full-size Noah’s Ark in Kentucky. Whether you’re passionate about Christian education, building a biblical worldview, or helping students connect faith and science, this conversation will strengthen your confidence in God’s Word and the historical truth of Genesis.
Meet the Visionary Behind the Ark
Ken Ham—CEO of Answers in Genesis and the driving force behind the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter—shares how a burden from his early days as a public-school science teacher led to a global apologetics ministry. He explains that the Ark wasn’t built as a novelty, but as a powerful tool for gospel outreach and creation science education. In a world where young people are often told Scripture is myth, Ken highlights why visual, hands-on biblical learning matters for Christian parents, homeschool families, and educators trying to disciple the next generation.
Throughout the discussion, Ken addresses the skeptical questions that dominate modern classrooms: How could Noah fit the animals? Is the Flood real history? Can science support the Bible? Rather than dodging hard issues, he shows how apologetics and careful research help students see that trusting Scripture isn’t blind faith—it’s a reasonable, grounded choice. The Ark Encounter, like the Creation Museum, functions as a living classroom where families can explore biblical history, the reliability of Genesis, and the beauty of God’s design in a way that’s engaging for kids and adults alike.
Key Takeaways
- Why building a life-size Ark helps answer today’s biggest skeptical questions about Genesis
- How creation science and apologetics equip students to stand firm in a secular culture
- What the Bible means by “kinds” of animals—and why the Ark story is scientifically plausible
- The Ark Encounter as a family-friendly, gospel-centered alternative to secular attractions
- Why the church must re-embrace biblical worldview training for the next generation

Ever wondered what Noah’s Ark looked like? These days you don’t have to wonder because it has been rebuilt to full scale! Ken Ham is the man who has rebuilt this marvelous structure and he is Kevin’s guest on the Educate For Life Radio Show.
The Ark Encounter features a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. Ark Encounter is situated in beautiful Grant County in Williamstown, Kentucky, halfway between Cincinnati and Lexington and right off I-75.
Ken Ham is a well known Christian Apologist. He founded the website Answersingenesis.org and has debated well-known atheists such as Bill Nye and many others all over the world. With the Ark Encounter he has attracted the attention of believers and non-believers alike. In fact, atheist groups have gone as far as to warn over 1,000 school districts not to take their students to the Ark Exhibit.
Tune in to hear more about the Ark and how it is an amazing testament to the accuracy and veracity of the Bible. You will learn more about the science behind this incredible story.
This episode first aired on Feb 2, 2019.

We also offer resources that align tightly with Ken Ham’s message—especially for homeschooling or classroom use. Our Creation Science Curriculum for Kids makes the science-faith connection understandable and exciting for younger learners (/creation-science/), while our Christian Apologetics courses train teens and adults to answer tough questions the way Scripture calls us to (/apologetics/). You don’t have to face a skeptical culture alone—there are tools to help you disciple with confidence.
Here’s a short excerpt from the episode:
- “One of the most asked questions is, ‘How could Noah fit all those animals on the Ark?’ … We need to give our kids answers.”
- “It wasn’t millions of species—only the land animal kinds went on the Ark.”
- “We built the Ark and the Creation Museum to answer skeptical questions in a professional, engaging way.”
- “Only 18% of millennials go to church. So how do we impact a secular culture? We must be innovative without compromising God’s Word.”
- “Real science actually confirms the Bible. That’s a revelation for many people.”

[00:00:00] welcome to educate for life I’m your host Kevin Conover my web sites educate for life dot o-r-g and I’ve got a really
[00:00:06] special guest on the air with me today let’s see if you can guess who my guest is today from these clues okay ready
[00:00:12] here we go he had he earned an Applied Science degree from the Queensland Institute of Technology he started his
[00:00:18] career teaching science he moved to America in 1987 from Australia
[00:00:23] he opened a seventy-five thousand square foot Creation Museum in 2007 which has
[00:00:29] now had over four million guests in 2016 he decided that a Creation Museum was
[00:00:35] not enough he built a full-size Noah’s Ark according to the dimensions given in the Bible spanning 510 feet long 85 feet
[00:00:43] wide and 51 feet high it’s in Williams Williamstown Kentucky and five years ago
[00:00:49] this week he debated Bill Nye the Science Guy arguing for the truth of creation and that evolution is not true
[00:00:56] so far during that debate somewhere around three to four million people tuned in to watch the debate live and
[00:01:02] since then somewhere around 20 million people have watched it all together over seven million views on YouTube alone if
[00:01:09] you haven’t figured it out by now my guest today is Ken Ham he is the CEO of Answers in Genesis Ken thanks so much
[00:01:16] for being on the program today hi Kevin hey it’s great to be with you yeah what a big blessing you know I
[00:01:22] think it’s incredible you know all that you’ve done here in America you decided
[00:01:28] hey America needs help I’m gonna leave Australia I’m gonna come to America or is that right actually when people say
[00:01:38] to me you know why why did you go to the Creation Museum and the Ark in America aren’t you coming to America love it’s
[00:01:43] obvious that God brought us here but I also believe they brought us here because this is the country which is
[00:01:49] really the center of the Christian world still and center of the business world and it enables us to impact more people
[00:01:56] and really reach the world with the message of God’s Word in the gospel that’s fantastic and you know the Ark is
[00:02:04] absolutely incredible what you’ve done there and building that and everything and I just wanted to you know I want to
[00:02:10] make sure our guests know about it it’s amazing to me how many people still don’t know about the ARC’s existence but it’s an incredible
[00:02:16] tool that you’ve got inspired you to build along with your team to reach
[00:02:22] people with the gospel of Jesus Christ and what was it that instigated that what was it that you thought to yourself
[00:02:29] you know what I’m gonna build a full-size Ark what started that process you know it really goes back to my
[00:02:35] teaching days in Australia in 1975 I became a science teacher and when I took
[00:02:41] the first science class in the public school students know as a Christian and they said so how can you be a Christian
[00:02:47] when we know the Bible’s not true they don’t know the Bible’s not true well because of evolution in their textbooks
[00:02:53] and because there’s no way Noah could have fitted all those animals on the ark and you know over the years as I have
[00:03:00] spoken around the world and all sorts of places one of the most asked questions is how could now get all the animals on
[00:03:07] the ark in fact Bill Nye brought it up at the debate at the Creation Museum here he mocked me for believing in
[00:03:12] Noah’s Ark and said you know how can I can believe in Noah’s argued you need millions of species on the ark which is
[00:03:18] simply not true so you know we built the Creation Museum because that burden goes back to my teaching days and seeing
[00:03:24] students only go to evolutionist museums and wanting to have a Creation Museum and really the Creation Museum in the
[00:03:31] Ark they’re the two leading Christian themed attractions in the world but it’s
[00:03:36] a way of taking a message at the message of God’s Word and the gospel to a
[00:03:42] culture that it’s different to what the church is doing for instance and you
[00:03:49] know only 18% of Millennials in this country go to church and so how can we
[00:03:55] impact an increasingly secularized culture well let’s build attractions
[00:04:00] that answer skeptical questions that people have and it helps them to get
[00:04:06] those answers and does it in a professional way the same quality that Hollywood would do it so people comment
[00:04:14] that it’s the quality of Hollywood it’s the quality of Disney or even better people would say and let’s do something
[00:04:21] that people are going to really say I want to see that and you know people have heard of Noah’s Ark all around the
[00:04:26] world and you have these little know Nioxin gift shops their little box a box with drive sticking out the chimney and
[00:04:32] all the rest of it and people are familiar with the account of the flood because there are flood legends and
[00:04:38] cultures all over the world so while we’re building the Creation Museum we talked about what could we do next and
[00:04:44] that has been one of the most asked questions how can you believe in Noah’s Ark and your people very familiar with it and so we said let’s build a
[00:04:51] life-size Ark and that’s what we did it’s the biggest timber frame to structure in the world one and a half
[00:04:57] times the length of a football field all three decks are filled with world-class
[00:05:02] exhibits and people come from all over the world and we have all sorts of other
[00:05:07] things as well we have a zoo and we have other outside features and we’re just opening a 2,500 seat multi-purpose
[00:05:14] Center and that with the Creation Museum that’s 45 minutes away we have reached
[00:05:20] millions of people and 30% of those who come a non-christian so it’s an incredible way of outreaching to the
[00:05:28] culture yeah that is amazingly effective I mean nobody can argue I’m sure you had
[00:05:33] a lot of naysayers a lot of people saying there’s no way this is gonna work what are you doing wasting all your time and energy and money on something like
[00:05:40] this but now in retrospect looking back on this and the impact that it’s had it’s just phenomenal well yeah and we
[00:05:46] had nice areas not just not just secularists and you know people who are
[00:05:52] against us from the secular world but also people from the church and there are people said well you can’t build
[00:05:59] something like Disney Hollywood you know and and impact people with the gospel
[00:06:05] but we do and they know those that said look if you’re overtly on about the
[00:06:10] Bible and all about the gospel people come and come you’re not going to you’re not going to reach people you certainly won’t reach non-christians actually
[00:06:16] non-christians come in droves we have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of buses from different companies they put
[00:06:24] on these tours and you know some of these tools I mean you smile at this but there are two of I just saw another one
[00:06:30] recently where they said they’re going to go to the casino then the Creation
[00:06:35] Museum then they’ll go to the zoo Cincinnati Zoo and maybe the Newport Aquarium or something or the Bourbon do
[00:06:41] still refused and and you know it’s interesting that 80% of the two of us
[00:06:49] that come our secular tours and these people are amazed and and they say that
[00:06:57] the quality is amazing I’ve spoken to some of the non-christians that have come and they say you know what it’s
[00:07:03] just amazing to see this and we saw information that we’ve never thought of before and it challenged our thinking
[00:07:09] and so you know it is having the impact I think it’s a greater impact than we
[00:07:14] even thought and so we praise the Lord for that you know if you bill if you build it they will come
[00:07:21] well they’ll come to an ark that’s for sure we know that well yeah I think that’s
[00:07:26] incredible because you know a lot of churches they’re wondering like how do we do a better job of reaching out to people how do we do a better job of
[00:07:33] impacting the people that need it the most right Christ said I didn’t come to save the the people that already think
[00:07:40] they know it all I came to save the Lost right and so yeah and you know Kevin you
[00:07:46] know one way I know that the Ark and the Creation Museum are so impactful because
[00:07:53] because of the way the atheists hate what we’re doing and they are so upset
[00:07:58] did you know recently the Freedom From Religion Foundation that are basically a group of atheists and bully people all
[00:08:04] across America to get rid of anything Christian they wrote letters to a thousand public schools this is the
[00:08:11] second time they’ve done it a thousand public schools in five states surrounding the Ark and warned them if
[00:08:19] you dare bring any of your students to the Ark on a field trip well you know we’re going to they implied they’re
[00:08:24] going to sue them that’s illegal that it’s against the First Amendment they are so concerned that that people might
[00:08:33] actually students might actually get to hear some things that they don’t normally hear and they’re thinking be
[00:08:38] challenged the fact that the Atheist opposes so much tells me hey we must be
[00:08:43] doing good absolutely I mean you know what’s amazing to me is I teach in a Christian school but I grew up in a public school and I’m always amazed how
[00:08:50] many kids are dying to hear truth they’re dying to hear the information that oh ya know there are
[00:08:55] is a historical event the arc would work the arc would flow you know there’s been all these studies done answering all
[00:09:00] these people’s questions and if you’re listening today because like ken is saying one of the biggest questions people have is what about the flood how
[00:09:07] would that all work how would you fit all the animals where did all the water go and Answers in Genesis Answers in
[00:09:12] Genesis org please go and visit their website I’ve used it numerous times to
[00:09:18] find answers to the – the hard questions that people ask and they’re not just these are not shallow questions these
[00:09:24] are questions about things like speciation and and you know how did the Kangaroos get to Australia off the ark
[00:09:29] and all kinds of stuff that people ask and the answers are there for those that are willing to look and my guest today
[00:09:35] is Ken Ham we’re coming up on a quick break here we’re only going to be a minute but stay with us and we’re gonna let him answer some more questions about
[00:09:41] noah’s flood the ark the ark encounter and also how you can make an impact if
[00:09:46] you’re a christian out there today and you’re wondering hey how can i make a difference what can you do to be a light
[00:09:51] to your own community to your neighbors to your families your friends your co-workers so stay with us my guest today is Ken Ham we’re gonna be right

[00:11:09] gorg and I teach apologetics and this is an apologetics radio program it’s a defence of the Christian faith giving
[00:11:15] people answers you know apologizing apologizing isn’t necessarily about
[00:11:21] saying you’re sorry at least the original meaning it’s about answering people and giving a reason for
[00:11:28] the hope that lies within you and my guest today is Ken Ham he’s been doing this all his life his website is Answers
[00:11:33] in Genesis org has an incredible ministry that’s focus is on helping people understand the truth of God’s
[00:11:39] Word and answering the honest questions that people have about hey how did this all work and so Ken I think it’d be
[00:11:47] fantastic for our listeners to hear a little bit about some of the questions that are answered by visiting the
[00:11:53] Creation Museum and the Ark exhibit and you speak all over the place – what kind
[00:11:59] of questions do you answer for people that that they struggle with we know that’s the interesting thing at the
[00:12:05] Creation Museum in the Ark Encounter what we wanted to do is make sure that we answered for families for kids for
[00:12:12] adults pertained the most asked questions that people ask today that it really attacks on the Bible that there’s
[00:12:19] skeptical questions that really around it saying see how can you trust the Bible and you know there’s not travel
[00:12:26] all over the world it doesn’t matter what country I’ve been in it can be a third world country when people know
[00:12:32] you’re on about the Bible on about Christianity ask the same basic questions you believe the Bible how do you know that God will where did God
[00:12:38] come from well well wait am I where all the races of people come from and and
[00:12:44] where did black people and white people come from and have now get all the animals on the ark and is there any
[00:12:50] evidence full of the flood and where he can get his wife and we answer all those questions dinosaurs with a dinosaur
[00:12:56] exhibit in fact that the Creation Museum and you just give you an idea you know when I debated Bill Nye five years ago
[00:13:03] and millions of people have seen that debate but one of the things he did was mock me for believing in Noah’s Ark
[00:13:09] saying that are there were millions of species that would need to be on board and how silly it was you know for me to
[00:13:15] believe that that could have been real history but actually that that’s what our children are gonna hear and we
[00:13:22] need to give them the answers and it’s not millions of species it was only the land animal kinds that went on the ark
[00:13:29] their land dwelling air-breathing animals wasn’t sea creatures and the
[00:13:34] Bible says two of each kind or seven pairs of some but what if the word kind to me and it comes from the Hebrew mean
[00:13:42] and when you look at the word kind we would say from all the scientific research we’ve done that it corresponds
[00:13:48] in our classification system phylum class order family genus species well in
[00:13:53] case of indeed kind level in the Bible would correspond more with the family
[00:13:59] level in our classification system so when you look at dogs for instance lots of different species of dogs and
[00:14:05] different generated dogs but we can show how they can all interbreed to one degree or another how they’re all
[00:14:11] connected because there’s all only one dog family so only needed two dogs on
[00:14:16] the ark and because of all the genetic information God had already put in the dog kind after the ark as the dogs
[00:14:23] increased a number moved away from each other different combinations survived better in different areas you get your
[00:14:28] different species it’s it’s called natural selection and it operates on the information already there you know we
[00:14:35] look at the domestic varieties of dogs we’ve have like the poodles and the Chihuahuas and so on and they’ve been
[00:14:41] bred within the last few hundred years and we do that artificially by determining which breeds with which well
[00:14:48] in nature it’s called natural selection and that’s how you get you different species so know I only needed two
[00:14:55] separate kind and far fewer kinds then most people realize and so at the arc we
[00:15:03] had these exhibits we actually teach so that kids and mums and dads can
[00:15:09] understand the concept of kinds and show them that there was tons of room on the
[00:15:14] ark and we answer those questions for them and then we go on with with other questions well what about what about the
[00:15:20] races of people well they’re out any different races role descendants of Adam and Eve there’s only one race and the
[00:15:26] Tower of Babel after the flood was an event caused people to move away from each
[00:15:32] other because they spoke different languages and so different combinations of genes end up in different groups they develop different cultures so there
[00:15:39] aren’t any different races and we explain things like skin colour we’re all the same color just different shades we have a pigment called melanin it’s a
[00:15:47] brown pigment and you can have a lot of it and be very dark but you’re not truly black and you can have a little bit and
[00:15:53] be very light but you’re not truly white there are no white people are no black people we’re all one family we’re all
[00:15:58] equal before God we we’re all sinners we all need salvation in Christ and so we
[00:16:05] have exhibit after exhibit like at the Creation Museum it’s really a walk through the Bible it’s what we call the
[00:16:11] seven C’s of history we start at Genesis and you go through to Revelation and we answer questions all the way through and
[00:16:17] we have all these life-size exhibits and a planetarium and a 4d theater with
[00:16:22] better 3d than you’ll see at the movie theaters with infrared interactive
[00:16:27] glasses and outside the beautiful gardens and we have a petting zoo and we teach about kinds there and some of the
[00:16:33] best lip lines you’ll find anywhere sounds like fun I’m sold I’m on my way
[00:16:41] and then the art you know it’s exhibits and zip lines and in the zoo and and we
[00:16:47] have an animal active stage and all sorts of things so yeah you’ll you know
[00:16:53] I just think it’s incredible and you mentioned there that you’re you’re doing scientific research too so I I read on
[00:17:01] your website that you employ somewhere around 1200 people is that right yes at a peak time because you know in
[00:17:07] the season when people are traveling and the vacation season we have to bring in a lot of seasonal so we haven’t met 750
[00:17:13] full time staff and that increases by another 400 plus as you know as spring
[00:17:20] approaches for a through to the end of the year and we included in that is a
[00:17:25] number of scientists by the way that we have full-time yeah that’s what I wanted to ask you about was you’re not just I
[00:17:32] mean you are actually doing scientific research on for example how many kinds
[00:17:37] of animals would have needed to be on the ark for example and this is not just stuff you’re just you’re actually using
[00:17:44] science to validate and confirm what the Bible teaches and so these scientists what what are
[00:17:53] they studying what are they researching in order to you know show people that the Bible is God is the the God of the
[00:18:00] Bible but he’s also the god of nature and science well let me also say that when people go to our website Answers in
[00:18:06] Genesis know we had tens of thousands of articles there but we also have a research journal it’s free it’s called
[00:18:13] answers research journal you can actually just do a search or if they like that they can get to it through our
[00:18:19] website answers research journal and you’ll see all sorts of papers dealing with radiometric dating and the Grand
[00:18:27] Canyon and then the kinds as you were talking about all research there was years of research by geneticists and
[00:18:34] biologists into the kinds issue and all the papers are there they’re all published and they’re all peer-reviewed
[00:18:40] an incredible amount of cutting-edge research we have a PhD here in astronomy
[00:18:45] dr. Danny Faulkner we have our own Observatory in fact as far as we know it’s the best-equipped biggest Christian
[00:18:51] observatory for a Christian institution in the world we hadn’t never seen a Christian facility have anything like
[00:18:57] this and we have a planetarium we have dr. David Minton who has a PhD in cell biology
[00:19:03] he taught taught students in medical school for many many years dr. georgia proton is a molecular
[00:19:08] geneticist and so she deals with all those issues in regard to DNA and and
[00:19:13] you know look research looking at our humans and chimps really similar or what
[00:19:19] are the differences and showing they’re much more different if you look at it properly then then what students are
[00:19:25] taught we had dr. Terry Mortensen who has a PhD in the history of geology and dr. Andrew Snelling has a PhD in geology
[00:19:32] from Sydney University done incredible out of research an ongoing research on the Grand Canyon and on dating methods
[00:19:39] radiometric dating methods and we just brought on a PhD paleontologist who studies fossils dr. Gabriela Haines and
[00:19:48] she’s from Brazil she got a PhD in Brazil and we have dr. Tommy Mitchell
[00:19:54] and we have a number of other people as well and so we have quite a number of
[00:20:01] scientists here because what I want people understand is you know we want to make sure we are of the highest
[00:20:07] integrity have done the best scientific research we can and we connect with all
[00:20:12] sorts of Christian scientists that work in the secular arena that help us so
[00:20:18] that all this information were given is based upon credible research that’s
[00:20:24] being carefully done so that people know they can trust it that is fantastic again Answers in
[00:20:31] Genesis org there’s so much there that you can use to be able to get a better grip and an understanding of the Bible
[00:20:37] and biblical history and the science that confirms what the Bible teaches
[00:20:43] it’s absolutely phenomenal Answers in Genesis org my guest today is Ken Ham he’s the CEO and founder of Answers in
[00:20:49] Genesis if you’re in Kentucky please visit the Ark exhibit visit the Creation Museum they’ve got all kinds of
[00:20:55] resources there and when we come back and when I ask Ken what’s next what what is he going to be building next so stay
[00:21:01] with us we’ll be right back [Music]

[00:22:29] those different avenues as social media avenues and if you’re if you enjoy the show or if you didn’t get to hear the
[00:22:35] whole thing you’ll always be able to check out a recording of it I also have many interviews with other scientists and guests from all over the world
[00:22:41] different people doing different things recently interviewed Sergio Carrie yellow who is the artist for the action
[00:22:47] Bible and absolutely phenomenal testimony used to work for DC and Marvel and just a really amazing testimony and
[00:22:54] we have all kinds of guests that you can look up over a hundred interviews now with different scientists from all over
[00:23:00] the world and different people testifying to how Jesus Christ has impacted their lives my guest today is
[00:23:05] Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis and we’ve been talking all about the Ark Encounter and and the science behind the Bible and
[00:23:11] the flood and can I wanted to ask you you know there’s you you’ve done so much
[00:23:17] what’s next I saw on one of the drawings quite a while ago for the the Ark Encounter and so in the background it
[00:23:23] looked like the Tower of Babel there is are you going to be building the tower Babel next
[00:23:29] well it’s certainly part of a master plan you know one of the things that people say over and over again that the
[00:23:36] Creation Museum in the Ark is it it helps make the Bible come alive there’s nothing like you know seeing a family or
[00:23:45] many families in our shuttle boxes because we have a 4,000 space parking lot at the Ark and then when they’re in
[00:23:50] the shuttle buses we take him on a mile ride across a valley to go up to the ark when they come around the corner and see
[00:23:56] the ark for the first time to hear those whales and hear the kids saying it’s so
[00:24:01] big yeah it really makes the Bible come alive and they get a sense of the reality of it I mean it’s there in the
[00:24:08] Bible but it’s but so you actually build an ark life-size you know and it’s the same here at the crash museum to walk
[00:24:15] through the Bible and to actually see life-size dinosaur models and animatronic dinosaurs and to experience
[00:24:23] that and did it just really helps people to be able to see that and helps parents
[00:24:28] to be able to teach their children and so you know we don’t want to stop I mean when we built the creation museum before
[00:24:34] it was even finished we’re talking about what are we going to do next to impact more people and to help the Bible come
[00:24:39] alive and and to help influence coming generations well then let’s build an ark
[00:24:45] and so we’re keeping on adding things outside the Ark and the museum and so we have a master plan at the Ark where down
[00:24:52] the road as the Lord allows and we keep pushing the edge and stepping out in faith and doing these things eventually
[00:24:58] we have on our master plan a Tower of Babel because people ask me when is that going to be finished and I tell people
[00:25:05] well it’ll never be finished it was a terrible that’s right honestly I was thinking about God might come down and
[00:25:10] confuse confuse all the employees at Answers in Genesis and then and then we
[00:25:19] also got on the plans a first-century village and you know dealing with other
[00:25:28] aspects of the Bible and a ride through the plagues of Egypt maybe and you know
[00:25:33] then there’s all sorts of things that we have planned for the future taking events from the Bible and and and making
[00:25:41] them come alive we also want to build a restaurant just like just like our
[00:25:46] Disney has their character dining we’re gonna have character dining we’ve got plans for that where you can take your
[00:25:53] family and we’ll have Noah people to act as Noah and Noah’s sons and wives and so
[00:25:59] on and come and talk and talk about the flood and right before the flood and after the flood and so on so we’re
[00:26:05] planning all these things because we people more and more are getting very concerned in the culture where culture
[00:26:12] is heading I mean even the advertisements on television almost are rated these days when you see a lot of
[00:26:21] the movies that are coming out of pushing agendas like the gay agenda and the abortion agenda and this sort of
[00:26:26] thing and parents are looking for family-friendly places they can go so
[00:26:32] they don’t have to worry about what their children see or hear and that it will really teach them the truth and that’s what we
[00:26:39] do that’s what we do at the Cruz museum that’s what we do at the arc that’s why we’ll continue adding exhibits adding
[00:26:46] themed attractions we have 800 acres actually at the arc and it’s right at an
[00:26:52] interchange or an interstate 75 which is the second busiest north-south interstate in America so it’s just south
[00:26:58] of Cincinnati and the Creation Museum is 45 minutes from there and it’s ten
[00:27:04] minutes from the Cincinnati Airport and so they’re very easy to get to within the one-day drive of two-thirds of
[00:27:09] America’s population and of course on the west coast they have to come a little further but people come with many
[00:27:16] guests who come from California and Texas and but people come from all over the world and we want to keep doing this
[00:27:23] to keep answering those questions as you said you know apologetics that’s what we
[00:27:28] are but these are actually themed attractions that emphasize apologetics giving answers for what we believe first
[00:27:35] Peter 3:15 to be able to give answers and so they’re apologetic centers that
[00:27:40] they’re fun they’re family-friendly you know it’s interesting when we have some of the biggest and best applying courses
[00:27:47] in the mid Midwest at the arc and the Creation Museum and there were people who said well why why’d you even do that
[00:27:53] and I said because Christians can have fun too yeah that’s right and not only that it also attracts non-christians
[00:28:00] in to do that sort of thing as well and they they’re impacted by what they see
[00:28:05] so why shouldn’t Christians be going this you know why shouldn’t we be as
[00:28:11] good as the world or better and use such attractions because there’s different
[00:28:16] ways that we can present the gospel provided we never compromise God’s words there’s different ways that we can use
[00:28:23] to communicate God’s Word in the gospel to the culture and that’s what we want
[00:28:28] to do to be innovative in what ways we can use with you know that the minds God
[00:28:35] gave us and he has brought all sorts of sculptors and artists and fabricators
[00:28:40] and others to this ministry who want to use their talents for the Lord and they’re thrilled to do this so we’re
[00:28:46] going to continue expanding the arc of the museum and and building other attractions of course the Tower of
[00:28:52] Babel in that’s bill and also deal with the race issue we deal with that anyway in the Ark and the Creation Museum but
[00:28:59] it’ll deal with you know the dispersion of the the nation through ham Shem and Japheth and around the world and we’ve
[00:29:06] even got books written on that showing hey there are names and cultures around the world it goes back to the grandson said Noah yeah obviously turn I read I
[00:29:15] think it was Bodie Hodges book on that what blew my mind away how much you can actually go back in history and through
[00:29:22] tracing the names and actually see historical events and see the historical
[00:29:27] truth that’s laid out also in Scripture and the end the the parallel history
[00:29:33] there that’s happening you know I was gonna ask you you know what concerns you most about
[00:29:39] American culture currently as far as you know you are saying that parents are looking for places to guide their
[00:29:45] children and and that are safe and the culture is increasingly skeptical and
[00:29:51] antagonistic to the Bible it seems what are what are your biggest concerns today
[00:29:57] with what’s happening in the news and everything well let me just say the assistant this might be a surprising
[00:30:03] answer for people but I tell you what I’m mostly concerned about is the church
[00:30:08] because so much of the church has not taught apologetics so many people have
[00:30:15] not been equipped to be able to defend the faith and two-thirds of young people are walking away from the church by the
[00:30:20] time they reach college age very few returning and I believe it’s a failure of the church to answer the skeptical
[00:30:28] questions of the age and what they were taught at school nice to see the kids go to the public schools that have become
[00:30:33] so secular basically churches of atheism
[00:30:39] by and large teaching kids an atheistic worldview and so we’ve lost those
[00:30:44] generations from the church only eighteen percent of Millennials now attend church and the problem today is
[00:30:52] we’ve got much of the church out there saying well okay well you know the Bible says and and and trust in Jesus because
[00:30:59] the Bible says we have generations who had no longer have a respect of the Bible totally inoculated against the Bible and
[00:31:07] what we’re saying is look if you’re going to reach these generations today you’ve got to start at a different point you can’t just go out there and say the
[00:31:14] Bible says they don’t even know what the Bible is I didn’t even even know why you can trust the Bible or or you know what
[00:31:21] would what why should you even consider the Bible many of them don’t even know what the Bible says so we’re going to
[00:31:28] start at a different place and that’s one of the reasons why we do what we do with apologetics we for instance we have
[00:31:34] books called the answers books and we got five of them a hundred and 60 of the most asked questions people ask today
[00:31:41] with detailed answers because when you’re going to witness to somebody today they’re going to bring up world
[00:31:47] science or carbon dating or dinosaurs or yeah well the Bible just mythology well
[00:31:52] you can’t trust that in a scientific age we’ve got to equip people with answers
[00:31:57] to know how to be able to defend the Christian faith and point those people to the fact the Bible’s history is true
[00:32:04] and then to the fact that gospel based in that history is true and so that that’s an emphasis that we need in our
[00:32:11] churches it’s an emphasis we need in our own personal lives in regard to bringing up our children and in regard to
[00:32:18] evangelism amen I I couldn’t agree more I think that’s so timely that message is
[00:32:25] so important that’s what we have to do so you know the debate that you did with
[00:32:30] Bill Nye was five years ago has there ever been a talk of a follow-up a debate
[00:32:36] well not a follow-up formal debate but I did do a second debate with Bill Nye and
[00:32:44] we call it the second debate and the day after the Ark opened the Ark opened on
[00:32:50] the 7th of June 2016 and the day after the ark opened Bill Nye came and visited
[00:32:57] and he had his video crew with him when he wander video we are can so I agree to
[00:33:02] that provide a week of video or two which we did and we actually have that on DVD untitled they can go on the
[00:33:08] website and get that on the Answers in Genesis YouTube channel and I took the
[00:33:14] Illinois through the three decks of the Ark and there are a lot of young people there on they and they follow this around as well
[00:33:20] and I was able to challenge Bill Nye all the way through the arc and push him to
[00:33:25] the consequences of his secular worldview you know what happens when you die bill well he says when you die
[00:33:31] you’re done and then talk about well then right his purpose wasn’t meaningless so what’s the point of view debating me or talking to me and and and
[00:33:38] you know asking him questions about that and pushing him to the consequences of
[00:33:45] his atheism and I tell you it was it was a really incredible time and and now
[00:33:51] with those two debates the one that I did five years ago formerly here at the Creation Museum and then the informal
[00:33:57] debate for two hours through the arc I don’t think Bill Nye will come back
[00:34:02] and and debate again and it’s sad to see where he’s headed and involved in
[00:34:08] programs on Netflix that are sexually perverse and so on yeah pretty sad to see that but I’ll tell you what it opens
[00:34:14] up a lot of people’s eyes and we continue what actually siculus don’t
[00:34:20] want a debate Christians today and certainly not creationists in fact Bill
[00:34:25] Nye got a lot of criticism from his peers from the secular world for debating me they were angry because they
[00:34:32] said it allows those creationists to get their message out to the public and they
[00:34:37] didn’t want that they they didn’t even want people to hear what we’ve got to say so they want to close down debate
[00:34:44] that’s a statement of that’s a statement of hey I I’m afraid you may be right
[00:34:49] really if you’re so afraid of somebody else talking that they can persuade you to the other side well that’s not a good
[00:34:55] sign for your your ability to defend yourself right exactly I mean you think
[00:35:00] about it the secularists are so adamant kids in public school not hear anything
[00:35:05] at all about creation look if evolution was so correct and if it was obvious in
[00:35:11] fact why would you be worried about showing them what the creationists are saying in fact you would relish it to
[00:35:17] see how stupid they are but they want to protect students from even hearing what
[00:35:24] creationists say because they know once they hear this information and that’s what happens when people come to the ark
[00:35:29] and the Creation Museum I’ve heard it said many men people said I’d never heard this before no one ever told me this before and it
[00:35:37] challenges their thinking and they realized evolution is just a belief it’s a religion and they realized real
[00:35:42] science actually confirms the Bible it’s a revelation for many people and it makes them sit up and listen and listen
[00:35:49] to God’s Word in the gospel Amen well ken I just want to thank you so much for being on the program today and I just
[00:35:55] thank you for your testimony and your faithfulness to do what God has called you to do despite the obstacles that have been along the way so thank you for
