Kevin’s guest on the show today is Dan Barker. He is a Christian turned Atheist and is currently the co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation. Dan is a contributing editor of Freethought Today and is involved with the Foundation’s state/church lawsuits. He regularly gives lectures, performs concerts, and participates in debates with theists, often at college and university campuses.

Dan was a Christian preacher for 19 years. While preaching, he began to have questions on the validity of the Bible. Following five years of reading, Dan gradually outgrew his religious beliefs. “If I had limited myself to Christian authors, I’d still be a Christian today,” Dan says. “I just lost faith in faith.” He announced his atheism publicly in January, 1984. He tells his story in the books Losing Faith in Faith (1992) and Godless (2008).

Tune in for an exciting show and interesting debate. Learn how an individual can migrate from total devoted faith in God to denial of His existence. To learn more about Dan Barker, you can visit https://ffrf.org/about/getting-acquainted/item/13996-dan-barker.
