A family celebrating the thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

You are most likely joining many Americans in the celebration of Thanksgiving today with a feast of delicious food. Most would call this day an “annual harvest celebration,” however Thanksgiving was originally set up as a reminder to Christians that we should thank God for His many blessings. This tradition is widely recognized in the United States as beginning with the Pilgrims and Native Americans at Plymouth in 1621. Following a tragic first winter in the “ New World,” the Pilgrims had a plentiful harvest, and they celebrated with a harvest festival, thanking God for His many blessings. The Bible says we should give “thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” Ephesians 5:20 As we gather with our loved ones around the Thanksgiving table, let’s express our appreciation for God’s abundant blessings in our lives. Our faith, family, and friends are among the most precious gifts we’ve received.
