What is God’s plan for human sexuality and marriage?

A growing number of Christian leaders and churches are faltering on the issue of homosexuality. Is the biblical perspective really in question, or are they just buckling under increasing social pressure?

There are many Scriptures that make it very clear that marriage is only between one man and one woman. And He (Jesus) answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” Matthew 19:4-6

God does not allow us to pick and choose which verses to follow or reject. By doing this, people actually raise their own thoughts and beliefs in authority over God and His Word. It’s the same problem when people reinterpret God’s Word. Rather than simply ignoring a particular verse, they change the meaning of it to make it fit their view. In reality they are positioning themselves as the authority over God’s Word.
