Feminism and Transgender Rights: Equality or Tyranny

In this bold and timely episode of The Educate for Life Podcast, host Kevin Conover tackles one of the most pressing cultural questions facing families today: Are feminism and transgender rights advancing true equality—or are they opening the door to a new kind of tyranny? With Christian education and a biblical worldview as our foundation, this conversation equips parents, students, and homeschool communities to think clearly about identity, truth, and freedom in a world that’s rapidly redefining all three.

When “Equality” Gets Redefined

Kevin begins by tracing how feminism originally emerged to address real injustices against women—something Scripture itself supports through the dignity God gives to both men and women. The Bible repeatedly affirms equal worth before God, and Kevin highlights how Christianity elevated women’s status in history and in the early church.

But he also asks a hard question: What happens when equality moves from protecting women to erasing the distinction between male and female? This shift, he argues, helps explain why modern feminism often overlaps with transgender ideology. If men and women are seen as fully interchangeable, then gender becomes something you can self-define, rather than something rooted in God’s design and biological reality.

From there, the episode explores how gender is increasingly treated as a feeling instead of a fact. Kevin connects this to a wider worldview problem—relativism and “my truth” thinking—where personal perception is elevated above objective reality. For Christian parenting and discipleship, this matters because the question isn’t only what is loving? but also what is true? And for Christians committed to faith and science, the call is to hold compassion and clarity together.

Key Takeaways

  • The Bible supports women’s dignity and equal rights, without denying God-given differences.
  • Modern feminism often shifts from equality to interchangeability, blurring male/female distinctions.
  • Transgender ideology flows from relativism, where identity is defined by internal feeling rather than reality.
  • Compelled speech is a serious concern, especially when governments penalize dissenting views.
  • Love must include truth, because affirming error doesn’t ultimately help people flourish.

Sweden is one of a few countries around the world that has adopted gender-neutral policies. They have even added new gender-neutral words to their dictionary. The claim is that these policies help promote equality. But are they right? Should other countries also adopt these…

Sweden is one of a few countries around the world that has adopted gender-neutral policies. They have even added new gender-neutral words to their dictionary. The claim is that these policies help promote equality. But are they right? Should other countries also adopt these policies?

Today on Educate For Life, Kevin tackles the two sensitive subjects of feminism and transgenderism. Kevin examines how adopting gender-neutral effects a society and whether it positively or negatively impacts an individual who is transgender.

[00:02:26] the place and we’re gonna be talking about an interesting subject today and that is the whole debate that’s happening place right now over

[00:02:33] transgender rights and these sort of sorts of things Canada has passed laws essentially saying that if you miss

[00:02:40] gender somebody deliberately you can be fined you can face penalties we’ve

[00:02:45] already seen a little bit of this in America with what happened in New York I did a show about this quite a while ago

[00:02:51] New York passed a law where if you are an employer and you deliberately

[00:02:56] misgender somebody or let’s say somebody says hey I’m a I’m a girl and they’re

[00:03:03] actually a guy and you continue to call them using the pronoun male pronouns

[00:03:08] like he then you can face fines and penalties up to two hundred and fifty thousand dollars now this is really

[00:03:15] coming to the forefront in politics right now with what’s happening with Trump has made several kind of a

[00:03:24] statements that he is considering removing all language that that pertains

[00:03:29] to transgenders in any any kind of laws because he doesn’t think it’s necessary

[00:03:36] and so there’s this big argument over whether gender is male and female or

[00:03:42] whether there are tons of different types of gender you can identify yourself as different things so I’m

[00:03:47] going to talk a little bit about this today because I think it’s important and if you keep up at all with people like

[00:03:55] Jordan Peterson or steven crowder or ben

[00:04:00] shapiro these guys are all talking about these issues especially jordan Peterson he’s become very famous because of this

[00:04:07] and I also want to talk about how this relates to feminism all these feminism and Trent and

[00:04:14] transgender rights surprisingly there’s a there’s a connection here that some people don’t notice or or aren’t aware

[00:04:20] of and it’s important to understand it if I’m going to be an intelligent person

[00:04:25] with a biblical worldview if I’m going to intelligently communicate God’s Word as well as the social science that

[00:04:32] revolves around this and how it affects our government and our policies it’s important that we understand these

[00:04:38] issues so we’re going to be diving into that today so I wanted to start off this

[00:04:43] is a video about sweetest feminism it says has Swedish feminism gone too far

[00:04:50] and I want you to listen to this it’s kind of funny but they’re serious so

[00:04:56] listen to this here in the gender equality stakes Sweden is rated highly but some Swedes

[00:05:02] feel it’s being taken to extremes it has the highest proportion of working women in the world and some two thirds of

[00:05:07] university degrees are earned by women new mothers and fathers both get generous parental leave gender role

[00:05:13] neutrality initiatives however some feel are being exaggerated there’s a politician who proposed that men should

[00:05:20] be required by law to urinate in a sitting position partly because it

[00:05:25] leaves toilets cleaner and promotes prostate health partly as an appeal for reason here’s that politician when my

[00:05:35] son was in kindergarten ding up their own love when we had taught him to pee

[00:05:41] sitting down or sounds or other that’s not when the school let him sit down to pee there was no problem as gone an

[00:05:50] hanya then I had read about a school in Norway that officially banned boys stand

[00:05:55] up here lots of people’s reaction was that was taking away boys right to be

[00:06:00] boys or a boy got oh yeah and Helena rutberg joined the feminist movement in

[00:06:06] the 1970s to fight for women’s rights because she saw her mother suffer violence at home today she argues women

[00:06:13] have equal rights and that feminist political parties are taking things too far it’s a power struggle between men

[00:06:21] and women I think and the effect of that is that we have got on one side we have

[00:06:31] women on the other side men and this is not good foot for the children

[00:06:39] or for anyone at this school in Stockholm teaching gender equality is a

[00:06:44] priority boys and girls are encouraged not to be limited by stereotypical roles or games and since last year there’s a

[00:06:51] new word in the Swedish dictionary hen which is a neutral pronoun for he or she not everyone agrees about that okay I

[00:07:00] think that’s a good good there basically you can see here Scandinavia has been

[00:07:06] really on the front forefront and typically you know Scandinavia Denmark

[00:07:11] Norway Sweden that’s Sweden’s put these laws there they’re calling themselves the first feminist government and there’s an

[00:07:19] article that was put out by The Washington Post it says here Apple Facebook and Google among 56 business is telling Trump not

[00:07:27] to weaken transgender rights now what is the connection between feminism and transgenderism or transgender rights you

[00:07:36] know as a Christian I believe what the Bible says in in Galatians chapter 3 verse 28 it says there is neither Jew

[00:07:42] nor Greek there is neither slave nor free there is no male and female for you are all one in Christ Jesus

[00:07:48] you know the Bible over and over again repeats the the idea that God does not show partiality he does not show

[00:07:54] favoritism and in Galatians 3 what it’s saying is when it when it references Jew or Greek what it’s saying is God does

[00:07:59] not show partiality based on your race right and then it says neither slave nor

[00:08:05] free he doesn’t show partiality based on your status in society and then it says there’s no there’s no male and female he

[00:08:12] doesn’t show partiality based on your sex now so so when we talk about

[00:08:19] feminism if somebody were to say you know Kevin are you a feminist well if

[00:08:25] you mean by feminism do I want equal rights for women do I think women should be treated fairly absolutely the Bible is all for that the

[00:08:32] Bible is all about elevating and I and I believe that the Bible as far as women’s

[00:08:37] rights are concerned in women’s equality there is nothing no book that has done what the Bible has done for women

[00:08:44] there’s no nothing like it that has been done for women wit the Bible has raised the status of whim more than any other text in the world

[00:08:52] and we can see this in in the Bible the Bible constantly gives rights to women

[00:08:58] for example in the Old Testament there’s a story that most people aren’t familiar with the Leppa had that these the

[00:09:04] daughters of his alefo had this guy passes away he has no sons and the it

[00:09:10] looks like the his property is going to be lost to him because he has no sons and and and sons get land well they go

[00:09:17] and complain to Moses his daughters do and they say hey shouldn’t we have land our father’s name shouldn’t disappear

[00:09:23] just because he has no sons and Moses consults the Lord and God says

[00:09:29] yeah absolutely give them the land right and then of course Deborah as a female judge Esther rescues all of the Jewish

[00:09:36] people when they were going to be basically put to death and then you have

[00:09:42] people like Jael who is credited with rescuing the Jews from an evil king and

[00:09:48] over and over and over again we see this Priscilla in the New Testament Phoebe and Eunice we see all these women that

[00:09:56] are given honor and lifted up and we see these scriptures which declare that men and women are equal in 1st Corinthians

[00:10:03] chapter 11 it says nevertheless in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman for as woman was made from

[00:10:09] man so man is now born of woman and all things are from God and over and over again we constantly see this we also see

[00:10:16] that it looks like in the afterlife there’s not going to be a discrepancy between men and women Jesus Christ when

[00:10:23] he’s asked about marriage in heaven he says there will be no marriage in heaven

[00:10:30] there will be nobody will be marrying anybody and we can infer from this that it looks like there’s not going to be

[00:10:35] procreation that one of the primary reasons for the sexes in creation is to

[00:10:42] procreate and to populate the world the Bible says be fruitful and multiply write several times he says this to Adam

[00:10:48] and Eve he also says it to Noah when he gets off the ark and his family and so

[00:10:53] that’s a big part of the sexes now what’s happening in our culture today is that even sex is being redefined but

[00:11:02] typically historically what we’ve seen is that sex is biological male and

[00:11:08] female we can tell a person’s sex by their biology that has to do with a variety of factors including their

[00:11:15] chromosomes including their physical body parts including their hormone levels all sorts

[00:11:21] of things help us to establish okay this person is male and this person is female and so that’s sex but what’s happening

[00:11:28] is our culture is redefining gender to be whatever you feel like you are okay so and this this takes us back to which

[00:11:36] if you’ve stayed with me for any amount of time you know I talk about relativism the show I did earlier was on solipsism

[00:11:42] which is the idea that a person’s mind and how they perceive reality is more important than reality itself so so CS

[00:11:51] Lewis called this perspectivism and he said this was very dangerous because people are saying that reality must line

[00:11:59] up with the way they think not they’re thinking line up with reality and so these are very very hot topics in our

[00:12:07] culture today all over the world people are arguing this especially in Western Western civilization in Western culture

[00:12:13] so I want to clarify this you know are

[00:12:19] there is there the question keeps coming up right is there more than one gender historically it’s only been male and

[00:12:26] female same with sex there’s only male and female but now people are arguing because there’s intersex there’s people

[00:12:32] that are born that are potentially have some aspects that are male and some

[00:12:40] biological aspects that are female they’re intersex and therefore there should be no categories as male and

[00:12:46] female so we’re coming up on a break here but when we come back I’m going to

[00:12:53] distinguish between these and I’m going to show where feminism is good but where feminism can potentially take a wrong

[00:13:00] term and why we have to be careful as Christians to how we answer the question

[00:13:06] and am i a feminist I would say in some ways I am but there’s a very clear way

[00:13:11] where feminism is going that I am NOT and this all around both science social science

[00:13:18] science as well as the scriptures and what the Scriptures teach so stay with us we’ll be right back buuut gibson of

[00:15:43] the Bible so we cover everything you can imagine creation/evolution we talk about Islam we talk about Buddhism Mormonism

[00:15:50] how do we know that Christianity is the right religion and then we cover all the the subjects that are going on today in

[00:15:57] our culture how do we know that this nation is a Christian nation was it a

[00:16:03] Christian nation is it worth keeping it a Christian nation we cover issues like abortion and homosexuality and all these

[00:16:09] issues that people have questions about and I also by the way I do a lot of

[00:16:14] speaking I recently was speaking at the national apologetics conference with Veritas International University up in

[00:16:21] LA and recently spoke at the Awana conference Southern California wanna conference also and so if you’re looking

[00:16:28] for somebody to talk about these subjects I’d love to be a part of your church congregation speak on a Sunday or

[00:16:34] or at a conference whatever you have available that you’d like you need an apologist somebody who does this sort of

[00:16:40] thing to speak I’d love to be able to help you out so you can check that out on my web site to educate for life.org

[00:16:46] we’re talking about transgenderism transgender rights and feminism and the

[00:16:51] the big deal here is that feminism it

[00:16:57] started out really really good in the sense that it was about equality for women about women being treated fairly

[00:17:02] about women not not being oppressed or pushed down and you know I you know I

[00:17:10] I’m a Republican today not because I care as so much about political parties

[00:17:16] but you know the founder of the Republican Party was Abraham Lincoln and I believe that a lot of the people

[00:17:22] on the right side of the political aisle based their views about reality and

[00:17:28] about government and about politics on the Bible and for that reason I

[00:17:33] typically vote Republican obviously I’m pro-life and I believe in

[00:17:38] conservative values and so when it comes to like women’s rights for example the

[00:17:43] suffragettes were almost all Republicans and it was it was people with conservative Christian values

[00:17:49] judeo-christian values who were fighting for women’s equality and women to have the right to vote the Democrats at the

[00:17:55] time when this was an issue were actually voting against women’s rights and so I believe that today when we talk

[00:18:03] about women’s equality or we talk about feminism that Jesus Christ is all about

[00:18:08] women Jesus Christ is all about raising the the well-being of women and honoring

[00:18:14] women and so where feminism takes a turn for the worse though is when it begins

[00:18:20] to say that men and women are interchangeable so so if you’re if this

[00:18:25] is something that you care about I think this is a key point and that is this God believes that men and women are equal

[00:18:31] but he does not teach that they are interchangeable and the the movement today which feminism transitioned into

[00:18:40] transgender thought right or trying to have transgender thought or transgender

[00:18:45] rights transgender the transgender activists generally will say that gender

[00:18:52] is a is a cultural construct right it’s a societal construct it’s not real it’s

[00:18:58] something that we have made up and whether intentionally or not will people

[00:19:05] say made up in order to suppress women and this is just not the case there’s no

[00:19:11] doubt about it that men and women are different the evidence is overwhelming that they’re different and if you’ve

[00:19:17] listened to any of Jordan Peterson stuff he’s a clinical psychologist 25 years and he he is a Christian of sorts but

[00:19:26] his perspective is that it does us no good it serves us no good in order to

[00:19:32] continuously argue that that men and women are interchangeable now

[00:19:38] this whole idea that a person can define reality however they want perspectivism

[00:19:44] solipsism or relativism right post-modernism all these fancy words all

[00:19:50] they’re saying is that a person can define reality how they want their mind

[00:19:55] and how they think they are is more important than how they actually are so so when a boy says our girl says I want

[00:20:03] to be a boy which happened here in San Diego with a friend of mine he had a

[00:20:08] student who said I want to be called a boy she was a girl and he said I cannot

[00:20:13] do that she complained to the administration they said we want you to call her a boy her parents weren’t even

[00:20:20] aware of this by the way the administration would not tell her parents and he said I can’t do this you

[00:20:27] know he called me up and he said Kevin what do you think do you think that I should do this do you think I should call her a boy even though she’s not and

[00:20:33] I said well I don’t think this is a sin either way I don’t think it’s a sin for

[00:20:38] you to do that or to not do that but I think you’ve got to think it through and go okay why you know should I do this or

[00:20:44] should I not now a lot of Christians at the time we’re saying hey look it just call her by her name don’t worry about the pronouns just call

[00:20:51] her whatever her name is and then you don’t even have to avoid it I mean how many times do you call on that student throughout the day anyway she was a

[00:20:57] quiet kid and not very often and he ended up deciding that he needed to

[00:21:03] continue to be able to say she was a boy and you know some people have even said but is that really the loving thing to

[00:21:10] do and the fact of the matter is is that the reason he pushed back against this

[00:21:15] is he said where are we gonna end up if we keep letting this we keep pushing this line back and we keep saying rather

[00:21:22] than deal with the issue I’m gonna avoid the issue you know a lot of a lot of people make these statements you know just find a way to get along to go along

[00:21:31] but at some point you got to draw a line and if you Jordan Peterson what he’s talking about it with Canada there bill

[00:21:37] C 16 is essentially that they have made it a criminal a criminal act to

[00:21:44] misgender somebody so if you decide look it I’m gonna make up a reality with you I’m

[00:21:50] gonna I’m gonna treat you as you really are and you decide I’m gonna call this

[00:21:56] student a girl even if she wants to be called a boy then you you have crossed

[00:22:04] the line you’ve broken the law and you can be fined and penalized just like New York has made that law and so and my

[00:22:11] friend was let go he was fired because he would not call this girl a boy and so

[00:22:17] so here’s the deal this is coercion right this is compelled speech this is the government telling

[00:22:22] you how you have to think and how you have to talk and it’s somewhat equivalent or or it’s along the same

[00:22:28] lines as the whole hate speech laws hate speech is not governing action anymore it’s governing the way you talk and so

[00:22:34] the difficulty here is is how much are we going to allow the government to continue to infringe upon in America

[00:22:40] it’s our First Amendment rights now in Canada they don’t have First Amendment rights but the fact of the matter is is

[00:22:46] that thank God we do our our founding fathers were straight genius that they gave us

[00:22:51] the First Amendment right which was freedom of speech right and so we have the ability to say what we think now why

[00:22:58] is that so important well you know there’s two sides two different views on

[00:23:04] this if you talk to somebody on the Left typically what they’re gonna say is this

[00:23:09] we believe that you must be civil even if it means sacrificing honesty so we

[00:23:15] meet we believe you must not offend even if it means sacrificing honesty and so

[00:23:21] what they’ve done is they’ve elevated the idea that you shouldn’t offend somebody above the value of honesty so

[00:23:30] truth has been brought down below not offending somebody now for a Christian

[00:23:37] our goal here is to love people right that’s what we do we want to love people and I want to show love to the person

[00:23:44] that that says hey I’m I’m transgender or whatever the case but remember that

[00:23:51] love doesn’t always mean making somebody feel better now I would never try to deliberately make somebody feel worse

[00:23:57] but at the same time I have to be careful I don’t want to sack

[00:24:02] fice truth for my desire to be quote compassionate right and this is what

[00:24:09] Jesus Christ says Jesus Christ said I have not come to bring peace but a sword

[00:24:15] now that’s a very strange statement coming from Jesus Christ you wouldn’t

[00:24:20] expect him to say he’s he’s not come to bring peace but a sword but this is Matthew chapter 1034 and what he’s

[00:24:27] talking about he says he will divide a brother against a brother a father against a son a mother against her

[00:24:33] daughter and what is he saying he’s saying I will not sacrifice truth for

[00:24:38] peace that truth is elevated above peace and so this is really important for you

[00:24:44] and I to understand this you know and it really applies to all areas of our lives when we’re dealing with children we’re

[00:24:51] not trying to coddle the child now it doesn’t mean just because we’re telling them the truth or applying discipline

[00:24:57] doesn’t mean we don’t love them in fact look love is demonstrated through that

[00:25:02] discipline or that telling the truth that’s what we would argue that love ultimately has the benefit for that

[00:25:08] person now I was watching a discussion between steven crowder and a transgender

[00:25:13] person you can check this out you know what steven crowder does those shows where he says i believe there’s only two genders

[00:25:21] changed my mind and so there’s an interesting dialogue here back and forth between the two of

[00:25:26] them and the transgender named Danielle says transgender woman says so a man who

[00:25:35] is dressed up as a woman says the best thing you can do for me is to support me

[00:25:41] in my truth so the claim on the left is this that by you agreeing with this

[00:25:50] person about their gender even if it’s not their sex that you’re actually doing them a favor you’re giving them health

[00:25:56] you’re lowering discrimination but the claim on the right is that by me

[00:26:03] essentially playing pretend with that person pretending they’re a gender that

[00:26:09] they’re not I’m actually doing more harm than good I’m not helping them I’m hurting them so we have two different

[00:26:15] perspectives gives in that case okay we’re coming up on a break here and when we come back we’ll continue to talk about this and so

[00:26:23] stay with me we’re gonna look at feminism transgenderism and how it

[00:26:28] affects our government and our policies is it a good thing or a bad thing we’ll be right back Fastlane kayaking sells

[00:28:40] hi thanks for tuning in today you’re on educate for life radio with Kevin Conover and my websites educate

[00:28:46] for life dot o RG if you’re interested in checking out all kinds of tough subjects that have to do with our

[00:28:53] culture today you know one of the things I’m talking about today when we talk about feminism and transgenderism I’m

[00:28:58] talking about moral relativism or what CS Lewis called perspectivism and that

[00:29:04] is the idea that how a person defines reality is more important than reality itself

[00:29:10] so I actually address this in detail in class 202 and we talked about it it’s

[00:29:17] called refuting relativism it shows that this way of thinking doesn’t take you to the right path and you know I come when

[00:29:24] I teach this I compare it to a map a road map if you want to get somewhere like let’s say you’re going to Disneyland and you want to get to

[00:29:29] Disneyland but you have a map that’s taking you to Sedona Arizona right then

[00:29:35] the problem is is you’re not going to get where you want to go and so when we look at the issue of reality and and

[00:29:42] what do we want out of life well most people what they’re looking for out of life is they’re looking for happiness they’re looking for contentment they’re

[00:29:48] looking for these things ultimately from a biblical perspective what we’re looking for is eternal life it’s a reconnection with God and that’s Jesus

[00:29:57] Christ died on the cross for our sins so that we could reconnect with God we could have that relationship back with our Creator and so when it comes to tilt

[00:30:07] to life and making decisions the closer my map aligns with truth right with

[00:30:13] objective truth then the better off I’m going to be the more likely I’m going to be able to get to where I want to go and

[00:30:19] so truth is very very important Jesus Christ uses the phrase I tell you the

[00:30:25] truth 78 times in the New Testament and so over and over and over again truth is emphasized as the highest good or one of

[00:30:32] you know love is the highest good but love and truth really go hand-in-hand you can’t have truth without love and

[00:30:38] you can’t have love without truth that they go hand in hand and so when we when

[00:30:44] we are talking about these issues I was talking about Steven Crowder was talking to this guy and and the the transgender

[00:30:51] suicide rate is higher than any other subgroup subpopulation higher than any other demographic so I believe

[00:30:58] the stat is that at 41% there they’re attempting suicide at 41% they’re committing suicide at 34% this is unreal

[00:31:06] the the average population if you just take the population as a whole the suicide rate is less than 5% and so why

[00:31:14] is it so high now some people would say well it’s because of discrimination and so today government’s like a Canada’s

[00:31:21] government is mandating essentially mandating that you don’t make a

[00:31:26] transgender person feel like an outsider so the thought process is this look it this suicide rate is astronomical it’s

[00:31:33] horrible we need to figure out a way to lower the suicide rate so what we’ll do is we’ll make laws requiring people to

[00:31:40] call them by the pronoun that they want to be okay so think about this right so

[00:31:45] the solution to the suicide rate according to these state governments is we’ve got to get rid of the less than

[00:31:54] feeling that they’re experiencing so the transgender person Danielle said to

[00:31:59] steven crowder the best thing you can do is love me in my truth my truth and his

[00:32:06] truth was that he was a woman okay so steven crowder says no no no the best

[00:32:12] thing i can do for you is speak the truth to you right and so that being the case we have two different perspectives

[00:32:19] on what is going to lead to the best outcome and one is saying I in my mind I

[00:32:28] feel like a woman even though biologically I’m a man and the other side is saying well that’s

[00:32:35] actually an issue that has to do with mental illness therefore the solution to

[00:32:40] helping you isn’t to continue to support you in that mental illness it’s to actually find a solution to the mental

[00:32:47] illness now when I did the show before on this John Hopkins University has done

[00:32:54] more sex change operations than any other Hospital and the president of John

[00:32:59] Hopkins actually said that they were doing more damage than good that when they the person was had sex change

[00:33:07] surgery they it didn’t cause thing to improve it actually caused things to go worse so very interesting my radio

[00:33:16] helped one of my producers here Roberts helping me out and and he’s gonna be on the air every once in a while Robert

[00:33:22] what’s your thoughts oh well I guess I definitely think that as a Christian

[00:33:28] that should there’s a clear way that would impact the way you view the safety issue because on the one side you have

[00:33:35] the idea of like my truth your truth whatever truth you feel yeah like Jesus and the Bible in general

[00:33:41] clearly talks about the truth yeah like there is only one there’s what’s real there’s what is actual and that’s true

[00:33:48] and Jesus says the truth will set you free he definitely doesn’t say your truth will say yeah wouldn’t that be weird if

[00:33:54] he said that postmodern Jesus yeah your

[00:33:59] truth will set you free yeah and it but isn’t that the case though I mean very often times even outside of the transgender issue

[00:34:05] oftentimes what we do is we say look it I’m gonna pick this scripture I like

[00:34:11] that one right Jesus has a plan for me all things

[00:34:16] work for the good of those who love him right but then we leave out there’s the other scriptures that speak to our issues and

[00:34:22] so I like the way Ray Comfort says it he says look it as God begins to look more

[00:34:27] and more like you right you’re essentially fashioning God into what you want him to be so work we’re having God

[00:34:34] conformed to our image rather than us conforming to his image and so when it comes to issues like this absolutely as

[00:34:41] a Bible believing Christian I need to be able to look at the Word of God and go okay what is the truth like Roberts

[00:34:49] saying here not what is my truth and I think this applies all over the board I

[00:34:54] mean you can we can look at the issue of of evolution and creation we can look at the issue of inerrancy versus the the

[00:35:02] idea that the Bible has errors or contradictions all these sorts of things are applied in Scripture and we have to

[00:35:08] go okay what is the truth and we have to be careful that my opinion is not taking

[00:35:14] precedence over the Word of God so when it comes to this issue and transgender rights there’s there’s an even

[00:35:20] that’s even more significant and that is this that is how how far are we gonna

[00:35:25] allow the government to force us to adhere to its perspective right so no

[00:35:31] longer is God the authority in my life but the government is the authority in my life so no longer is it male and

[00:35:37] female but it is all these different genders and if if I have to essentially

[00:35:45] bow down to that idea I have to submit to the government’s idea of gender then

[00:35:52] I can no longer listen to God and listen to truth and authoritarian culture

[00:35:58] authoritarian governments develop in this manner where they begin to tell you how you need to think how you need to

[00:36:04] act everything about how you can live and this is the whole point that our founding fathers set up the system that

[00:36:11] they did was to protect us from authoritarianism and these sorts of things and as a Christian I believe this

[00:36:19] is a very relevant we’re fighting for equality of opportunity we’re not fighting for equality of outcome and

[00:36:25] this is seems to be where the feminist movement is going is equality of outcome which is extremely dangerous because

[00:36:32] essentially you have to mandate certain things I’ll give you an example right

[00:36:37] now Harvard University is being sued because of they they are making

[00:36:44] acceptance to the University contingent on your ethnicity as an Asian essentially Asians outperform all other

[00:36:54] races when it comes to academics this is not because rate Asians are inherently

[00:37:01] smarter it’s because their culture has made them so that they work harder and I

[00:37:06] have international students from China he says that on average he has to get a

[00:37:11] SAT score that’s 140 points higher than a white and 440 points higher than a

[00:37:16] black in order to get in Harvard and now what Harvard is doing is it’s only allowing Asians in from particular

[00:37:23] particular places in China so if they have too many Asians from Beijing they won’t let any Asians from Beijing and

[00:37:30] they look for at different places so what’s happening is your having Harvard is once an equality of

[00:37:37] outcome not an equality of opportunity that when our Declaration was set up

[00:37:42] right we were guaranteed the rights of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness we’re not Gary guaranteed happiness that would be equality of

[00:37:50] outcome but we work guaranteed equality of opportunity which is life liberty and

[00:37:55] the pursuit of happiness yeah so I think something that you’ll find if you think

[00:38:01] about it is that freedom and equality of outcome are actually mutually exclusive because not all people are exactly the

[00:38:08] same so if you have the freedom to run your life you’re gonna run your life the way you want to and you won’t end up in

[00:38:15] the exact same place ten years later as somebody else who ran their life the way they want to so you can only achieve a

[00:38:21] quality of outcome at the expense of freedom by taking away freedoms and like forcing people to do everything the same

[00:38:27] way so that you get the same outcome yeah or by like putting these big handicaps on people who are doing well

[00:38:32] and then like giving all these boosts to people who are not doing as well but is that really fair or are you just like

[00:38:39] yeah so there goes fairness out the window right so here you’re you’re trying to quote be fair to one person

[00:38:45] but in essence you’re being unfair and so it’s ridiculous well we’re coming up on another break right now but we’re

[00:38:51] gonna talk about this as it pertains to men and women how our men and women actually different is it just the reproductive organs that makes us

[00:38:57] different or there are other differences that make an equality of outcome unrealistic and ultimately tyrannical

[00:39:04] we’ll be right back screams yeah

[00:41:30] use in order to educate young people and adults about the different subjects that are critical in our culture today that

[00:41:36] people are discussing and trying to find truth about and what we’ve been talking about today is we’ve been talking about

[00:41:43] feminism and transgenderism and you know feminism is a great thing I would say

[00:41:50] it’s even biblical up until the point where you begin to say that the sexes are interchangeable the facts actually

[00:41:56] show and the Bible is very clear he made them male and female they are not

[00:42:01] interchangeable they are equal but not interchangeable and so so if you look at the differences

[00:42:10] between men and women if you’re familiar with this discussion but there’s a lot of big differences women for example

[00:42:15] speak almost twice as much as men and the first time this became crystal clear

[00:42:22] to me was when I got a cell phone bill as a young married man and I looked at my wife’s minutes and I looked at my

[00:42:27] minutes and I thought oh my goodness they were literally twice as much and that’s not a bad thing that’s just the

[00:42:33] way God made us he made us different women actually tend to be more more relational if you if you allow men and

[00:42:40] women equal opportunity men will typically choose careers and jobs that have to do with things whereas women on

[00:42:47] on average will choose jobs that have to do with people so women are more social

[00:42:53] men like things and facts if you ever got to get around a book bunch of guys and they’re all talking

[00:43:00] together they will typically be talking about facts who knows the most facts about things and they try to one-up each

[00:43:07] other all the time on who has the best most interesting fact can people can

[00:43:12] there be Terra Firma on Mars can you live on Mars and create an atmosphere right and and a woman walks up to that

[00:43:19] conversation and oftentimes will be like what are you talking about right that’s what she’ll think and what if she want

[00:43:25] to talk about she want to talks about what’s happening in relationships recently how are you doing what’s going on in your life right this is very very

[00:43:31] common and this is not a social construct this is not like okay we’ve

[00:43:37] molded people to be this way and part of the reason that we know this is the case is if you look at Scandinavia if you

[00:43:44] look at which has become very very feminist oriented right Sweden recently said they are the

[00:43:50] feminist government the a male president said that and they’re doing everything

[00:43:56] they can to boost up women increase their opportunities do everything they

[00:44:02] can well what they found is that 80% of nurses in Scandinavia are women why is

[00:44:09] this it’s not because they don’t have opportunity it’s because this is what they’re choosing and so you know you’ll

[00:44:16] often hear talk about a gender pay gap and a gender pay gap is a concern if

[00:44:22] it’s happening because men are suppressing women then it’s a concern

[00:44:27] but if it meaning you’ve got certain men in the work environment that want to

[00:44:34] oppress women now I’m sure they’re out there but the question we have to ask ourselves is is that really because of sexism is that by

[00:44:41] and large why it’s happening well not in Scandinavia so yeah the gender pay gap

[00:44:49] issue that’s been talked about for a really long time but there’s actually one really big misconception about it

[00:44:56] it’s never been the case since like the 1970s at some point that a man and a

[00:45:01] woman could legally be paid a different amount for the same work so the pay or

[00:45:06] the gap in pay between genders has to do with either working different hours different positions different kinds of

[00:45:13] jobs that pay different amounts but it’s literally illegal to pay a man and a woman a different amount for the same

[00:45:19] job yeah that’s been illegal for decades now so that’s not the pay gap that’s not actually happening right now yeah so

[00:45:24] very interesting that it’s not actually sexism at least not in the law so it’s

[00:45:29] got to be some sort of conspiracy if somebody wants to say it’s man oppressing women well it’s nowhere in the laws so it’s

[00:45:36] got to be some sort of underground movement so the it’s the Illuminati right so and we even know from the

[00:45:43] social science that we’re gathering from Scandinavia which is so Pro women that that what happens is women don’t

[00:45:51] necessarily take the highest paying job so a guy might might think to himself I

[00:45:56] just want the highest paying job but a woman might say I’d rather have a lower paying job that gives me more freedom to

[00:46:02] do this or is more what I want another thing that I thought was very interesting that Jordan Peterson brought

[00:46:08] up is that women tend to be more agreeable than men and that is what does

[00:46:14] that mean it means basically that they’re less argumentative again of course there are women that are

[00:46:20] argumentative and there are men that are not but on average women just tend to be

[00:46:26] less argumentative and this also has something to do with women being paid

[00:46:31] less is because that they’re not as assertive right and I see this in my own in my own classroom we have discussions

[00:46:38] where we get everybody in a circle we have discussions and I have to constantly regulate the boys in the

[00:46:43] group that they need to tone it down and give the girls an opportunity to share their perspectives and so this is

[00:46:50] something that’s ongoing and so hormonal e bone density wise if you look up all

[00:46:58] that’s happening with chant transgender athletes and these men getting in women’s sports you can see that very

[00:47:03] often when a man gets in a sport that’s that’s supposed to be all women but here’s a man that is transgender he’s

[00:47:10] dominating in the competition this has happened over and over and over again bone density is bigger your muscle mass

[00:47:16] is bigger ya actually have different types of muscles even and so there are a lot of differences between men and women

[00:47:23] that have nothing at all to do with the culture that’s just biology it’s

[00:47:28] it’s your DNA it’s your genetics and so this is also a very important point when

[00:47:33] it comes to truth and the idea that men and women are interchangeable this is why the social science shows that a

[00:47:39] child does best when he has a mother and a father not two mothers not too fond

[00:47:46] mother and father that’s the best environment and so on the left you have

[00:47:51] people saying no no they’re interchangeable no big deal two dads fine two moms fine transgender

[00:47:57] dad a bio mom or what they call cisgender mom so no big deal and the

[00:48:05] issue is is that the social science says otherwise and the Bible says otherwise also so these are important subjects as

[00:48:13] we’re thinking these things through they’re coming up in politics sadly you

[00:48:18] know the Washington Post just posted here that that people are arguing with

[00:48:24] the the policies that Trump is putting forth that have to do with gender and so

[00:48:29] forth and nobody wants transgenders to be oppressed but what we really don’t want is we don’t want to be coerced into

[00:48:37] playing along and that because that coercion if it’s acceptable it essentially becomes tyranny okay and so

[00:48:44] just to summarize the points I’ve been making along the way here is this feminism in and of itself if it means

[00:48:51] equality for women if it means well-being for women if it means women being treated kindly and fairly and

[00:48:57] given opportunities that is all well and good and the Bible is all for that very clearly the Scriptures are for that but

[00:49:05] if feminism moves into the area where it begins to say that men and women are interchangeable or men are not needed in

[00:49:13] a family these sorts of things well now you’ve crossed a line men and women are

[00:49:19] equal but they are not interchangeable and this is why the whole gender issue has even come up because

[00:49:26] if you have a man that says he’s a woman well if men and women are interchangeable well then who cares

[00:49:33] they’re interchangeable but if they’re not and if society is built on the

[00:49:38] family then this is a really big deal because if you start to change the fabric of society and the family family

[00:49:47] is everything right divorce causes 90 percent of the social problems in our

[00:49:52] country and around the world divorce is is a precursor to that so all

[00:49:57] everything is built on marriage on family on kids having a mother biological mother and father that’s very

[00:50:04] important and so how we define those terms is very important also gender right so biblically there’s only two

[00:50:11] genders scientifically I would argue that that’s the case also and we didn’t talk much about intersex but essentially

[00:50:17] yes some people are born with congenital malformation etic abnormalities but this

[00:50:24] is not the norm right it’s less than way less than 2% and that being the case we

[00:50:30] all have to deal with things in our lives that aren’t perfect we know biblically that that if we look

[00:50:35] at what the Bible teaches all the way from Adam and Eve when sin entered the world all of creation has been slowly

[00:50:41] wearing down so we are getting more and more genetic mutations my daughter’s

[00:50:46] cystic fibrosis she’s still human I still love her to death but it’s something we have to deal with now on a

[00:50:53] regular basis and so when it comes to these sorts of things intersex or

[00:50:58] somebody’s mind being affected by trauma that’s causing them to feel differently than they actually are these are all

[00:51:04] issues we have to work through acknowledge and deal with I can’t pretend that my daughter cystic fibrosis

[00:51:09] doesn’t exist that’s not going to help the situation get better and in the same way what John Hopkins has learned is

[00:51:15] that it’s not helpful to pretend that a transgender woman is a woman when in

[00:51:21] fact she’s a man the best thing we can do is acknowledge that something’s going on in their mind and we need to help

[00:51:28] help them and encourage them we’re just about out of time here so we’re going to have another show next week I hope
